She should lose her nursing license. Its irresponsible for her to be so careless and show a lack of judgement. She is a health care professional and does not want to take a reasonable precaution?

Im sure she knows more about this disease than I do. The media has done a great job of scaring the hell out of everyone.

I know what you're saying Nick but Spring is coming and if this disease should perhaps spread to Central America, we have no way of plugging the border. Think back to last year all the kids that streamed across day-in-and-day out. If just one of them gets Ebola, we may be in some trouble.

OK, so a mainly African disease is gonna go to Central America and then cross the border in the middle of the night. In the unlikely event that may happen, its a good thing that we dont have hospitals with dirt floors and have the ability to quarantine people.

But in this case Im leaning towards allowing the quarantine.

I really dont know how much is scare vs reality BUT I do know that when a similar event happens in a movie
(crazy disease outbreak, person who may have contacted refuses help or ignores safety guidelines)
everyone in the audience is like "why you being stupid , big dummy"

amazing this nurse just moved from texas to maine.

comes back to the US from africa after treating ebola

a few weeks before the elections

NJ Gov. (R) has to lock her up

then

Maine Gov (R) has to lock her up

wouldn't surprise me if more 'nurses' start showing up in states with a sitting (R) Gov up for reelection.

after all you always want your enemies to do your dirty work for you.

wouldn't be hard for obama to come out and say that it's time to update the federal law to match what the States are doing, and best of all he can claim it wasn't his Idea, it was all republicans that updated the laws first.

there will probably be a parade the day the Feds change the law to lock people up for as long as they want for no reason.

This woman is an idiot

Ebola is a lot easier to catch than health officials have admitted — and can be contracted by contact with a doorknob contaminated by a sneeze from an infected person an hour or more before, experts told The Post Tuesday.
“If you are sniffling and sneezing, you produce microorganisms that can get on stuff in a room. If people touch them, they could be” infected, said Dr. Meryl Nass, of the Institute for Public Accuracy in Washington, DC.
Nass pointed to a poster the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quietly released on its Web site saying the deadly virus can be spread through “droplets.”

A ton more power to her; locking someone up because they might have a disease? If you can't see how this could be used and abused by the government any which way they can then you need to wake up. This is the government that used the "terrorism" excuse to spy on about a billion people worldwide.

NO NO NO

she is not locked up... the law doesn't allow them to lock people up.

her actions are purposeful in nature, to get the masses to demand that the laws be changed to allow government to lock people up.

before this nurse everyone was kinda 'self' quarantining, again we only hear about the ones running around taking flights, subways yadda yadda

people get fed up with stupid behavior and lawmakers say that something needs to be done

then this nurse actively defies all logic and no one can stop her... except the LAWMAKERS

The civil rights argument is quite amusing. You lose your civil righs when you try to impose bioterrorism on the public,

I mean, Nick you can downplay the severity of the situation. That's cool but someone has to plan for it to happen. It is unlikely but possible and in the event something does happen, someone has to be prepared to respond.

If we don't have a plan or know how to respond, people in America would be pissed off at the failure to respond and act right? Wouldn't you expect someone in the Federal Government to handle the situation? I know I would.

Yeah you just keep following orders

Yeah, and someone who is HIV+ should be able to fuck anyone they want and not tell them.

This chick is a selfish, stupid, ****. Period. No other way to look at it. If there is the slightest chance she could have contracted Ebola she SHOULD be required to stay her ass at home....where she is ONLY exposed to herself and anyone else who WANTS to be exposed to her.

Going into the general population is selfish, risky, and unresponsible.

I'm in the minority of the world on this one, but then again the majority of people usually fall for hysteria rather than reason. She tested negative for the disease already, and has zero symptoms. She's probably sick of the all the hysteria that's not science based going around at sites like info wars or natural news not too mention the MSM, and is taken a stand against it. She should do just do it voluntarily, and realize it's not worth the trouble.

I've done a voluntary quarantine before when I had E coli ten years ago, and I had to stay on it until I had three negative test, three weeks in a row. It was really not that big of a deal, I had a small child at the time and didn't want to take a chance. Then again i had tested positive so that's different. Still not worth the trouble to make a fuss about it.

The thing is she tested negative, has no symptoms, and without symptoms, it's not contagious. A force quarantine on someone like her isn't going to accomplish shit, other than satisfy ebola hysteria and make people feel safe.

Slippery slope here, should the fed have the power to force quarantine people that have tested negative for diseases because of mass hysteria?
