When you think about it, it's fascinating how we all hear & absorb music in different ways.

While some love one genre and it's truly music to their ears, it sounds like horrific noise to others, and vice-versa & so on with different genres...

Good observation Hache because you are absolutely right.

College days: Creedence Clearwater - still remember their music blasting through the dorm halls.
James Taylor - softer version but bigtime my college days...girls loved his songs.

Later: Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison

Later: Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, Eagles

Still at my age turn the volumn up when a Creedence song is played!

If you like Black Keys, check out this dude:

sounds in the same ball park. The leader singer Dan in the black keys has another band called "The Arcs." Their September album was legit

I listen to a wide range of stuff besides quality hip hop. Red Hot chili peppers, arctic monkeys, black keys(the arcs), Portugal the man album was tight, Marvin Gaye is one of my all time favs. I listened to some guns n roses for a while...radiohead... but not so much anymore.

And Seether

Nice.

Lead singer Shaun Morgan dated Amy from Evanescence for a spell. That resulted in an interesting Back & Forth of dissing songs as though they were rappers. A couple of pretty good songs came out of that exchange.

This song is the most interesting of all though. Unrelated to the above mentioned but written by Morgan instead for his younger Brother Eugene to make him feel better.

A couple weeks after he'd written this song and Shaun says before Eugene got to hear it....

In Rapid City Iowa while on tour with Seether, possibly helping out on the Road Crew, Eugene took his own life.

Epic List.

Top 2 are Great Choices.

Not sure how or why this thread adopted this "theme" of demise but A7X with The Rev IMO would have gone onto Zeppelin, Metallica level greatness.

Jimmy THE REV Sullivan was responsible for (it is my understanding at least) an important portion of the writing (particular songs or parts of these) thus the A7X "style" & end musical result for that would have IMO made them get to a place few bands go.

Same.

re: Amy.

Fan too of the other severed half of EV.

So totally not involved in the division.

Immense Respect for both as Artists.

Ain't got time or energy let alone interest in the hows & whys Dramas.

Evanescence should have been on my list and very high on that.

and, yeah, on Shaun's Brother. Terrible Tragedy, fascinating young man with a future ahead.

Impossible to know the demons people deal with though.

I love Seether & Evanescence so when Shaun & Amy got together I was digging the world.

Then so much blew up, them, Amy's band.....so much Drama and Negativity. Social Media turned it into an absolute shitstorm.

As it does with pretty much everything.

I just love most all of their music.
