Why hasn't this sport taken off. Bare Knuckle boxing ended in the late 1800's. Can you imagine how many boxers Jack Johnson would have killed if he didn't use gloves. Mike Tyson, George Forman and Joe Frazier would have sent numerous boxers to the hospital or worse. How about the damage the great middleweights would have done.

The nature of the punches are different though in Bare Knuckle and that is ONE of the reasons some people dont like it.
