Bad spot for UTAH today coming off emotional game against BYU, and traveling to SJSU before hosting USC next Friday night so it'll be a short turnaround for them. Laying 13' may be a bit too much for the Utes who have not found their groove offensively. Taking SJSU +13'

Bad spot #2, I like UCLA laying 3' on the road at BYU. I think Rosen has one of his best games of his career today. Similar to UTAH, BYU has to be spent after rallying and then losing to rival Utah last week. I know they are at home, but I think UCLA comes out early and puts up a couple of scores and then keeps the Coogs chasing all night.

Mentioned earlier I like CAL (got it at 8, but will play it at 7'). I'm not sold on the UT pass defense and I don't like freshmen in their 1st road starts. Cal will be up for this because it's TEXAS. If they cut down on the TO's they keep this really, really close.

I'm biting on USC +7'. If you're gonna get a David Shaw team, you want to get them early because they tend to build momentum as the season progresses. Add to that, these teams always play close games. SC will find a way to move the ball and protect QB Brown, but I think we'll see some Darnold in this one as well to mix it up.

Ore/Neb Over 74. I'm not one sold on the Nebraska defense and I think Oregon puts up points today. Also, I think QB Armstrong will mix in a gimme or two and create short fields for the Ducks. Same for Nebraska, I'm not sold on the Ducks defensively as they are learning a new scheme. I think Nebraska moves the ball up and down the field. Just a matter of can they hold onto the ball. This one goes late into the 4th quarter, and maybe overtime.

If the Ducks can mind their manners and avoid dumb penalties,
they should win here with ease. Note also that Nebraska is last
in the B-10 in punting meaning Oregon will have some short fields.
Charles Nelson is the Duck punt returner and he may get more than
just a chance to light it up.

Their front 7 on D still need a lot of seasoning getting used to the 4-3,
but their DBs are looking pretty good. That could mean some turnovers.

Just thought I'd touch on a couple of other factors that will play into
the scoring here.

Well got a couple wins (good Oregon line (+3½)
Mr. First Down (Freeman) left the game in the 1st quarter

Bitter-sweet win with Colorado +20½
It's too bad Sifo Liufau went down. I think the Buffs would
have shocked the world if he played the whole game.

2 wins but 2 bummers

I'm going with UCLA -3/BYU too
Aso adding Stanford -7/USC (Bet Phx)
You will thank Christian McCaffrey

The rundown:

ASU/UTSA O60½ (congrats to all the late bettors with 58 or 59)
Colorado +20½/Mich. (UM was fortunate that Liufau went down)
Oregon +3½/Nebraska (Ducks f***ed themselves on penalties again)
WSU -26/Idaho
Cal +7½/Texass (paying a little juice for changing sides)
UCLA -3/BYU
Stanford -7/USC (Bet Phx)

I'm typically not one to do related scores, but the more I see what Mich St is doing to ND, the more I like CAL at home vs Texas.

ML CAL (+275) small play

Buffalos were way up for the game and that certainly was a bummer!

I other games, I'm glad I didn't bet UDub today. I heard that Portalnd State wouldn't
be a walkover. Not a complete walkover compared to UW's other opponents. Looks like
WA came up a little short. Whew (41-3)

Also I mentioned at the top of this thread that I was wondering how many points the
Beavers would be laying vs Idaho St. The game went off at 43 and the final score was
37-7. That proves that Oregon St. is far from being ready for prime time. If they were,
they would have beaten them by at least 45 points.

File all that under good information.

Great week Conan ... keep it rolling!

(A note for the future: All four of WSU's accused felons played today. Leach is going to play them until the school's disciplinary process and/or the legal system is completely played out. Just have to keep an eye on the depth chart each week, but it looks like all of these guys will continue to play this season. Quality discipline being instilled by Leach *lol*)

Scott,

Didn't one of them have a rape charge?
I know someone did. I have to look it up.

That's what this West Coast thread is all about. As Conan and others will tell you, we all have differing opinions from time to time but you will always get thoughtful insight from the posters that follow west coast football. And we wont bash you for asking a question. We're all hoping to help everyone cash by providing insight.

Did Oregon really call a read option run on fourth and 19 yesterday or was I just really drunk?

Nice Oregon win on the hook. That had to be maddening for anyone with 3. I figured to see a lot of 2pt attempts, just didn't think it would all come from Oregon (NU also running the xpt swinging gate). They left 3 points out there.

I think it may have just been a scramble.

It probably was a scramble. Prukop took off with the ball bunches of times.
He's a hard guy to catch up to in the backfield. I just wish he would throw
more strikes instead of all those wild pitches. I am not happy with his play
of late.

Prukop is skilled, but it's only his 3rd game in the system. He's still learning and yesterday, in a hostile environment, he loses his stud RB. They had to change the game plan on the fly. Oregon is, as always, going to be very dangerous because that O is only going to get better....also NU secondary is pretty athletic.
