</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>ESPN's Michael Smith reports that Wes Welker (knee) "expects" to play in Week 3, despite not practicing Wednesday.
Smith, an ex-Boston reporter, says his Patriots sources feel good about Welker's chances of facing Atlanta. This all sounds good, but Smith admits Welker will ultimately come down to a game-time decision. He's likely to be "limited" in practice late this week and listed as questionable on Friday.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Don't go jumping to pull Welker out of your fantasy lineup just yet, as reports earlier this week had said that he would try and play. Also Czarnecki's accuracy has historically been similar to a coin flip. We'll have to wait and see if Welker will give it a go when it gets closer to game time. Julian Edelman would likely fill in for him if he can't play on his gimpy knee.

It appears Moss' missed practice Friday was only a day of rest. The Pats' other inactives are ILB Jerod Mayo, CB Jonathan Wilhite, CB Darius Butler, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, OL Rich Ohrnberger, OL Kendall Simmons, and ILB Prescott Burgess. Wilhite's inactivity is a big blow to New England's secondary. He had started the first two games and played well. Get Matt Ryan going.
