2008 is all about preserving the American way.

McCain is the closest anyone will get to that.

You fence sitting middle of the road Americans are going to take it up the ass once the Socialist Obama and his new wave social worker Democrats get a free ride into the Presidency.

:nohead:

You guys are heading down the path of european homogeny, and America will be the poorer for it, both economically and socially.

I once pulled the lever for Weld when he ran for re-election as Governor of Mass.

I wish I could find the video of him passing out at some event (he blacked out and wasn't drunk). I think it was a graduation commencement he was at. No such luck (it had to be over 10 years ago).

BUSTER, switched to cable ISP last month and I didn't score an extra cable (it's a bit different than Ethernet)....so for the moment can't hook up my laptop to run PHS archives while working on my desktop.

If I run it on desktop while trying to do all my other stuff, I bog down.

Almost to the end of the year 2000, so I've got plenty of months ahead of $6.95 a month Comedy Gold

Answer me one question.

What's Obama ever done for America?

btw. I'm a lefty.

You have the guy that walks the walk and the guy that talks the walk.
I'll take the guy that walks the walk every time.

I think the reason he's popular is because of "What he hasn't done TO America"

Can't agree with ya Cussy.

McCain has fought for America.

Obama is just playing at it, as far as Obama is concerned, it's a videogame.

This is just ridiculous. It is stupid as hell to say a person is fit to be president just because he has taken on the role of a trained and paid killer for the country! REally. Can you be that stupid?

You think the only way to serve your country is to become a trained killer? (i dont care call him a soldier, pilot, general, his job comes down to one thing, killing people) and mccain was a poor pilot at best. Crashed like seven times, shot down in war, squealed like a bitch and you think that automatically qualifies him to be president?

I dont blame people who think this way. You really cant be at fault when you only use a small portion of your mental capacity.

These are the ignorant people who voted for bush twice. He too was a pilot but he never got a chance to drop bombs on people from 15,000 feet.

What I don't like about the modern left, and europe is a lot further ahead of you guys in this respect, is it's homogonisation of society.

An average human being has various sharp edges, and doesn't fit easily into the mass production process.
So various "lefty" governments enable various social programs to knock as many sharp edges off people that they can, so that we all become more easilly processed cost units in their new world order mass production factory.

Being from europe I never realised the cultural diversification of christian evangelicals because I have been conditioned from birth by the left to hold the religious kooks in contempt.

Religious kooks are in fact your cage canaries, as are other people deemed as "undesirables" by successive lefty governments.

I now realise that you people need to hold the government social engineering brownshirts at bay if you are going to maintain the cultural diversification of your society.

That means, if you want the America you know and love to survive you are going to have stand alongside some pretty smelly people, people you really don't like, or you will wake up in thirty years and suddenly realise what you've lost.

The people in the front trenches, at the moment, until they have been exterminated by the social engineers are:
Smokers, christian evangelicals(now extinct in europe), islamics, drinkers, dog walkers, fat people, gamblers, car drivers

and various others.

Just think of someone you've been conditioned to "not like" by the government and media.

Hug them.
Then stand alongside them on the front line and hold those government bastards at bay.

If you don't, you're society will become less and less diverse until eventually Americans will become nothing more than homogonous european cost units in a global mass production process.

Obama offers European homogonisation
McCain offers American whackyness

Eek, your lucidity spurt is impressive to say the least. Either you are about to jump off the deep end or the tiger within has woken up.

I think you're quite a bit off the mark tho ...

Smokers: non-partisan issue. Simply a case of the non-smoking majority exercising their will.

Evangelicals: Repubs love 'em, dems hate 'em, feeling's mutual

Islamics: other way 'round

Drinkers: good source of revenue for both parties

Dog walkers: non issue over here because of our lower population density

Fat people: keep the economy going, gotta love 'em. Not just food but also healthcare

Gamblers: dems love 'em but want a piece of the action

Car drivers: America loves car drivers, good for the economy

You might be talking about the effect on Europe an Obama presidency would have, but America will always be a different ballgame on these issues.

Why does it matter that he fought for America if the voters feel that he is on the wrong side of the issues?

Obama is headed for a landslide electoral victory and a win of at least 7 percentage points. It's pretty clear the public isn't automatically going to put him in office despite the fact that he mentions he's a POW and maverick every third sentence.

Good Lord, Eek

McCain didn't particularly "fight for America", though he did honorably serve in the military during the Vietnam era, spending most of his time in a POW camp. And within just a few years of his return stateside, he was dumping his wife for a young heiress and for the past 30 years has pretty much lived the life of Reilly....

Not that you or I might be caught doing same, but suffice to say his "walk" has mainly been just showing up to ride the US Senator ship....hardly a daunting task in late 20th century America.

Quick quiz...Name two Senate bills actually authored by John McCain in his 24 years which have been passed into law....And "McCain/Feingold" is your freebie

Well he destroyed 6 of the govt's airplanes spent the war as a POW and now draws 80K a year disability.

Good thing we didn't have a bunch more like him.

seems to me Weld is conceding the fact that he has no political career left within the Republican party. Of course, most Republicans already knew this.

Willis: Yeah I'll give ya that one (though I'm still waiting for one Dem gov or former gov.), and JMac shoulda picked him for VP

DParsons: pretty much totally agree with you there. Eek, though being well-intentioned is looking through Euro colored (and state supplied) lenses.

Eek: My God man. You and Joey C are secret pen pals aren't you? I thought you liked them free, new teeth? What's the matter, they taste funny bro? BTW, in 8 years, if we survive, I'll prolly be living across the street from ya, so just yell out the window
:nohead:

As to McCain.....I don't think he's "4 more of Bush". Perhaps some of the policy, but I accept he's independent of the PNAC.....until he made that awful pick for VP.

My number one (besides the Veep blunder) concern is his temperament. Now we can have a completely separate discussion soley about temperament and the effect on decision-making. Time had a lead about that several weeks ago, and suggested that some of the greats were indeed "hot heads". I ain't buying it. I want my guy to be cool, calculating, and rely on an informed group that ain't PNAC (those 'effing imperialistic Neocons).

Comes down to Jesse Ventura (write-in) or BigO for me, and BigO is getting the nod.

We'll survive this round, eventually, if we can straighten out the housing market mess. Johnny gives me serious concerns due to the fact he (even he acknowledges so) lacks an understanding of economics....which circles us back around to....4 more years of Dubya (an economic retard).
