ALBANY, N.Y. – Two leaders of a mosque in Albany, N.Y., were arrested on charges stemming from an alleged plot to help a man they thought was a terrorist buy a shoulder-fired missile, federal authorities said Thursday.
The men have ties to a group called Ansar al-Islam, which has been linked to the al-Qaida terror network, according to two federal law enforcement authorities speaking on condition of anonymity.

This announcement was clearly timed by Bush to offset the bad job numbers...

I'm getting such a kick out of watching all you Bush lovers post the 'see, we told ya so' threads about recent AQ arrests.

I wonder how many of you are even adding them up? I also wonder how many of you are thinking lately, 'hey, maybe law enforcement DOES work.'

Patriot, you give me the giggles.

Yes with the Patriot act and the taking down of the Gorelick wall along with preemptive military strikes we actually have a chance against these bastards. And had we applied these same principles years ago, just maybe we could have stopped a couple of thousand people from losing their lives.

To the best of my recollection, most of the Kerry supporters (or the non-Bush supporters, at least) believed that law enforcement was a more sensible anti-AQ tactic than military action since the fall of Afghanistan. It's about irony.

There are many principles that could have been applied years ago to prevent 9/11 ... the Patriot Act is not among them.

Hope we didn't step on the scums toes or anything when they where arrested. Hope we don't put any underwear over their heads. Let's not sen them Ms. England!

Kerry said yesterday he'll be more "sensitive" when going after terrorism. What the hell does he care.
