TUESDAY 2-3 -5.90 UNITS
Here are tonights selections:
7 Units Rutgers -2.5 +102
Rutgers (3-1 ATS, 3-0 ATS) hasn't played for a week since defeating Temple 77-67 last Wednesday and should be more than ready for a young Nittany squad. Their only loss was to a good Wisconsin team 55-43 as a 14-point dog. For Rutgers, Herve Lamizana (14 ppg) and Ricky Shields (13 ppg) can go off at any time. Penn State (3-2 SU, 3-1 ATS) got a big taste of the Pitt Panthers Saturday, losing 64-37. In a game with few Nittany highlights, Penn State shot just 28% from the field. The young Nittany Lions began the season with a nail-biting loss to Georgetown 79-78 before rolling off 3 straight wins. 6’-11” Jan Jagla (18 ppg) has come along nicely as a reliable low-post scorer along with DeForrest Riley. Penn State is an opportunity target for Rutgers!!!
7 Units Creighton -8 -104
The Big 12 meets the Missouri Valley Conference and both teams come in unbeaten! Nebraska (5-0) has a nice balance with 6'-9" 240-lb junior John Turek (12 ppg, 10 rpg) up front and senior guard Nate Johnson running the break. They play great defense (58 ppg allowed) and beat Arizona State 66-60. This will also be their first road game. The Creighton Blue Jays (4-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) have a nice frontcourt of their own with 6’-8” senior forward Brody Deren (12 points/7 rebounds per game) and 6’-10” senior Joe Dabbert (5 rpg). Creighton is outscoring foes by a 77-51 average, though they've played mostly cupcakes, with the possible exception of a 79-44 rout at San Diego. Creighton was 19-1 SU & 4-12-1 ATS at home last season and won 81-73 at Nebraska as a 5-point road favorite!!!
