ILLINOIS -2

Everyone who has been paying attention to my threads knows I have been fading Iowa and their 5 player roster, it hasn't been successful as of yet, but it will continue with this play. I haven't bet this yet as I see 2, but expect it to come down to 1.5 at least. Illinois should be able to take advantage of Iowa's horrid depth because they will attack the basket and look to draw fouls. Iowa cannot afford to get in foul trouble and I can't believe they havent got into foul trouble yet in any of their last 5 or 6 games. The starters are playing around 38mpg since all the injuries, player transfers, academic issues, etc.

Looking at a few other games, Rutgers is a possible play, but have to look into that more.

I hate playing road big 10 teams but in this case I will be with you on Illinois.

Might be competitive at the start but Illinois will have the depth edge.

Thanks Kodiak, seems like the Rx cappers are extremely strong right now.

NC STATE +6

I've watched Georgia Tech play a few times now and they have been unimpressive in each. I watched them play Duke and they should have won that game but they played stupid, against Wake Forest they played very stupid at times as well. Unforced turnovers, stupid fouls, the tall guy in the middle has trouble catching and finishing. On the other hand, in the games I have seen of NC State, they have played well and played smart. Georgia Tech might have peaked too early this season, while NC State is on the upswing for a strong finish.

RUTGERS -6

West Virginia has only played 6 road games all year and they are 1-4 ATS in the Big East on the Road. They lost by 30 to Uconn, 19 to Providence, 11 to Notre Dame, and 15 to Villanova. Rutgers is 4-2 ATS in the Big 10, though actually losing their last 2 ATS. I don't feel West Virginia has figured out to win on the road yet and I see a double digit victory.

TEMPLE -3.5

Temple has played strong on the road while LaSalle has not been anything special at home. John Chaney's squad might have had an ugly record early, but thats because they didnt take a night off, they played major programs anywhere, anytime.

1/3/2004 @Indiana W 59-50 W 5 - N
12/20/2003 Miami-Florida(N) L 66-72 L 2 - N
12/15/2003 South Carolina W 71-61 W -2.5 - N
12/13/2003 Penn St. W 67-56 L -12 - N
12/9/2003 @Arizona St. L 66-70 W 8 - N
12/6/2003 Drexel(N) W 57-48 W -6 - N
12/3/2003 @Rutgers L 67-77 L 3.5 - N
11/29/2003 Illinois L 60-75 L 4.5 O 131
11/20/2003 Villanova L 48-73 L -11 U 128

They played one team who wasnt a major conference team as they played Drexel.

On the other hand, check out LaSalle's strong preconference schedule

12/30/2003 @Chattanooga W 71-65 W 3 - N
12/29/2003 So. Carolina St.(N) W 76-63 W -7.5 -12/22/2003 Va. Commonwealth L 54-55 L -2.5 - N
12/20/2003 Mount St.Mary's W 74-55 - N - N
12/13/2003 @Fla. International W 64-55 W 1 - N
12/6/2003 Villanova(N) L 61-74 L 6.5 - N
12/3/2003 James Madison W 79-71 L -11 - N
11/29/2003 @Lafayette L 63-83 - N - N
11/24/2003 Appalachian St.(N) L 48-59 - N - N
11/22/2003 Hampton(N) L 64-68 - N - N
11/21/2003 @Wichita St. L 71-74 L -2.5 - N

Pretty rough there, losses to Appy St, Hampton, and VCU at home.

LaSalle Injuries
Player Pos Injury Status
Jermaine Thomas G Concussion day-to-day
Dza Larkai F Leg day-to-day

Don't know if these 2 are playing or not. Thomas plays 27 mpg, and Larkai plays 16 mpg but has only played 8 games, all starts. Neither of these 2 played last time out. Does anyone know if they are playing or not? This is already a strong play, if these 2 don't suit up, then it becomes even stronger.

According to Don Best premium, no injuries to report for either La Salle or Temple. You might want to look at Iowa State as Jefferson returns after missing 6 games and both starting guards expected to miss for K State.

Through 16 minutes, Iowa has committed 2 fouls, simply amazing, Illinois on the other hand has 8 fouls. Amazing.

IOWA -2 2nd hal +9 for game

Illinois shot 63% in the first half and even though Iowa shot over 50% as well, I will go ahead and take some risk off this game.

Apparently Yahoo's stats were messed up, Iowa only shot like 35% in the first half while Illinois shot around 55%, so in this case this makes the 2nd half play look even stronger to me, but who knows. Things going well in the games right now. Rutgers cruising, and South Carolina and NCState both holding 2nd half leads

Illinois with the easy cash, hopefully no one looked at my thread and decided to take Iowa 2nd half, I only played it 1/3rd of my other bets so thats alright. Looked like it had some potential oh well. NC State will cash as well, I have NC State on the ML in a big parlay which with Illinois -2, Temple -4.5, and Memphis ML, Seattle ML. pays over 1000. That would be nice. Im sure one of the NBA Mls will screw me.

IU gametime 5 minutes!
