Wednesday PLAY

Vancouver ML -125

Skudra will likely play between the pipes for the Canucks today. The Canucks are red hot winning 7 straight and looking for their franchise record of 8 wins here against the struggling Hurricanes who have only 1 win in their last 6 games. The Hurricanes have a very descent 6-2-4-2 Home record. While, the Canucks carry a sparkling 6-1-2-0 Road record. Skudra should play well tonight as he is a reliable back-up and should prove himself. I had to play the 'moneyline' just in case this game goes to overtime (which could definitely go into OT if the game is tied in heading into the 3rd period). The Canucks are ranked # 14 with a 17.5 % PP while the the Hurricanes have a 86.1% PK ranked 8th in the league. On the other hand, the Hurricanes are 15.7% PP (ranked #16) and the Canucks are #1 in the league when it comes to killing penalties having a 91.1% (scoring also 3 SH goals in their last 10). This game will definitely come down to Special teams, and the team that will be able to generate the most chances and translate their PP chances into the goals will definitely be the winner here. Therefore, I'll have to play with the team that is on a roll which is definitely the Canucks who have a slight edge in this game in the Special Teams area. If Skudra can solidify the fort and the Canucks jump to an early lead this should look solid before the 3rd period begins.

Good Luck All

Hey Ivan.... just curious where you heard that Skudra will most likely be playing?? I heard rumours that Cloutier's eye may have swollen up... but haven't officially heard anything about Skudra gettin the start...

Thanks

GL

I live in Vancouver (as stated in the bio at the top left by my name). On Sportsnet Pacific & on CKNW radio they said Skudra was expected to play at least once (maybe twice) on the road trip. And due to Cloutiers' eye he will start tonight. I feel confident in Skudra (although I would prefer Dan da man) but Peter Skudra should have a 'descent' game and keep the Canucks in it since he rarely plays. He would like to make a statement here and the Canucks would hopefull support him up front tonight.

Good Luck my friend,

I live in the Vancouver area aswell... Ladner actually.... Haven't listened to the radio... but what I got from the papers was that Cloutier would be playing... anyways either way hopefully they win...

GL I'm on the Nucks aswell tonight..

Surprisingly Cloutier was in net, I expect Skudra. Doesn't matter Canucks still pulled out the W in a hard fought battle/.
