big carryover at the big A, but i'm playing my home track. enjoyed a good weekend and looking for some opportunities tomorrow. obviously, this post is pre-scratches, so my apologies in advance if my selection doesn't run. i've been a little disappointed with the lack of activity at this site of late- where have all the 'cappers gone?
r1: gems of wisdom. don't normally back a horse trying to route on dirt off a long layoff but becerra is a very sharp trainer and if he's sending this one long off the shelf, i'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.
r2: mango escapade. going to take a bit of a stab in this compact cast with mango escapade and david nuesch. 'mango has speed in a race not exactly devoid of speed, but not full of burners either. 'mango has had two runs to get fit under his belt and his up for a tag for the first time- if this guy has anything left, he'll show it here.
r3: legal logic. sure, slew's prince could be long gone is this plodding cast of turfers, but in the event his slew's royalty blood catches up with him in the final 16th, i'm going to back legal logic- who seems to coming around nicely for shirreffs. i will certainly play them both in an exacta box, but will make 'logic my top play in here at what figures a square price.
r7: shake off. i backed this one when she broke her maide at hollywood in november and have been waiting for her to run ever since. this is the best bred filly on the grounds- champion ap indy out of european champion shake the yoke. she's got speed, a good kick and we all know the ap indy's get better with age.
good luck to anyone playing the aqueduct pick six.
