So the 2nd game for everyteam on the South America world cup qualifiers are coming up starting tomorrow with Argentina vs Venezuela. I would like to get all the opinions from the professionals out there on the board!!! There are 5 games coming up. I just like 2 games Venezuela vs Argentina and Brazil vs Ecuador... My book is only giving me money line so I guess that what Ill have to take.

My picks

Argentina and Brazil, prolly put them in a parlay...

Venezuela is no longer the cinderella of south america and they proved it last weekend at Ecuador, so i will be carefull with that game although Argentina is the better team here.

I like Brazil in this spot, playing at home and trying to bounce back from a poor performance at Colombia.

GL in your plays.

venezuela, imo, proved nothing last weekend other than luck was on their side. They played a miserable 1st half and should have been down by 3 goals if not for the shockingly poor finishing by Ecuador. Venezuela have never grabbed even a point against Argentina and, while that streak will end some day, I don't see it ending tonight.

an Arg/Bra double seems safe enough

Venezuela has grown a lot and they have and will continue to prove it, im not saying they will be winning tonight but it will be a tough task for argentina (im an argentina fan) and to prove it to you, these are the numbers for Venezuela:

WC Qualifiers 1998, they finished last and they didnt win any single game, scoring 8 and receiving 41 goals.

WC Qualifiers 2002, they were on top of Chile, winning 5, scoring 18 and receiving 44 goals.

WC Qualifiers 2006, they finished 8th, scoring 20 and receiving 28 goals, they finish on top of teams like Peru and Bolivia.

And not to mentioned what they did last America Cup, certainly they have been proving a lot and they no longer are the cinderella of South America.

Thanks for your opinion Rosca I really appreciate it. Now this is what I think, stats and numbers dont come in to play for this game, at least not for this game. I have to agree with Rolltide, they didnt prove anything last game, they played a horrible first half and got a lucky goal (O.G). Venezuela sure isnt what it was before in previous WCQ or competitions but its not a strong team either, Venezuela its a country that loves baseball thats their #1 sport, when they make soccer their priority they might start doing a little better. I think the cinderella of South America its in between Venezuela and Bolivia... I think Argentina and Brazil seems safe enough but this is soccer and anything can happen, they still have to play 90 mins...

I think you're giving Brazil too much credit here. Looking back at the last 2 world cup qualifiers, 07' copa america, and friendlies, Brazil hasn't beat Ecuador by more than a 1 goal margin. Right now they are out of sync, why would things change this time around with a sloppy Brazil to beat Ecuador, who seem to do well against them, by a massive 3 goals. Seems to me Ecuador +2 and the Under 3 goals is the play.

Shukatiti, numbers and stats dont play a big roll on this game. You have to keep in mind that they just came from a boring 0-0 with Colombia, their most hated rival (Argentina) has 2 wins and Brazil doesnt want to stay back, they also havent played in Rios stadium "Maracana" for 7 years now today and they come back and I know they want to do it big!

yah, thats true, but im not just looking at only stats and numbers. The way they played against columbia was horrible, thats why i'd rather lay the money on ecuador not to lose by 3, since ecuador seems to always do well with brazil. See its about match-ups, not the stars on your team, and ecuador just seem to match up well with brazil. But this is sports, you never know what can happen.
