Had something strange happen less than an hour ago. NJ online sportsbooks accounts now all require two step verification where they send you a PIN number to your phone in order to log in. Some require every time others require every couple of weeks. FoxBet requires it every time. Before they were sending it to my email. Now they send it to your phone. About an hour ago I get a PIN text on my phone from Fox yet I wasn't trying to log in. Last time I logged in was about 9 days ago. I thought it was suspicious so I went to the account to try to log in. They send you a new PIN. via SMS text. I didn't get one. Tried again same result. I tried the PIN I didn't request and that failed.

You can't live chat with Fox unless you are logged in. They have this stupid virtual assistant that is of no use. They have no customer service phone number. I finally found a way to send them a message via text where they tell you they won't respond for several hours. It's ridiculous. I don't know what's going on. Is someone making bets on my account or trying to withdraw money from my account. That would be rather difficult because I do withdraws via PayPal and when I did use my checking account it's in my name. It would be a serious hack if someone pulled it off. I don't how you could do it. If they changed my password the account would have said failed log-in when I attempted. Nothing explains the not requested PIN unless someone hacked my desktop and is trying to log in to my sports accounts. I would still get a PIN sent to my phone. The fact that I can't get a new PIN sent to my phone is very disturbing. It means if the hacker was successful he was able to change the phone number on the account so when I try to log in the PIN number goes to his phone and he can log in to the account via a remote desktop. He could also change my email and then possibly change my withdrawal methods.

MY Thought is the site is being Hacked not just your account ......... THIS IS PROBABLY A BIGGER PROBLEM
Yes it has happened to multiple users so "not just you "

Also
there have been problems in the past with this particular site,, i feel the fact is shares /mirrors with Pokerstars -could be part of the problem

These SMS pin codes systems are far from perfect -- alot of glitches

Follow-up. Fox Bet was randomly sending out PIN numbers due to some glitch. Customer Service said they are still trying to resolve. I actually had contact NJ DGE because I thought my account was hacked before Fox got back to me. NJ online books customer service is a joke. What aggravates me is the state is doing nothing to improve it. Every book should have a live phone to speak to a customer service agent. I don't care about the cost. Bet America which no longer books in the state and was bought by Churchill Downs and just books horse races now was great. You could speak to an agent whenever you had an issue.

Caesars is even worse. They actually had agents on the phone then they did a Live Chat Queue. It would say you were number 53 in line. You would sit there and they would update you are now 26th. Finally it got to your turn. You type a chat message and there would be no one there. You waited 20-30 minutes and there would be no agent.

Other books have email support. Some would answer in a few hours, some the next day. Then you would reply and go through the same process again. Seriously, it's a fucking joke. The offshores would have issues. They lie. They went out of business but they always answered the phone even it was to tell you a bullshit excuse.

Through experience some size, not necessarily Sports books, have settings you can control when it comes to two step verification

So I'm assuming they don't?

I know I can't stand having to log in every time to a book I sure the heck am not going to keep doing a two-step verification to log in every time

It’s a state ran sportbook. You expect it to go smooth?

All customer service sucks nowadays. Every where you go it’s horrible.

i went to a local Mexican restaurant down the street last night. I frequent this place. The owner was standing behind the register as he always does and 2 servers talking to him and one on the kiosk.

They had me a menu and I said I just wanted a drink. They walked off and continued to talk next to me with no bartender. The restaurant was empty. And I’m a regular.

I sat there no shit for 5 mins. It’s like I wasn’t even there.

I got up and left. They lost a regular.

It's been resolved. Fox told me they were sending out random text messages with PIN numbers to test their system. You might want to send out an email to customers to tell them that is what is happening. If I was a hacker and got in their system. This is how I would try to get customers personal information. Say someone at a remote desktop has installed a key logger on my computer. Now I generate an SMS message with a PIN. I receive that as a customer and I log into Fox using it. Now I'm checking my account going into personal details which shows my method of deposit and withdrawal. My home address, phone. Once I'm in Fox account remotely I can change the methods, email, and phone number. Then i proceed with withdrawal requests and the customer has no idea the information has changed because the email has been changed. Two step verification only works if the site itself hasn't been hacked. You see breaches all time in more secure sites than online sportsbooks.
