I'd recommend:

1. Weight training concentrating on the basic, compound exercises that build mass.
2. Like you've tried - roughly 6 meals per day, not really worrrying about calorie consumption.
3. Try avoiding any unnecessary use of calories(elevator instead of stairs etc).
4. Get plenty of rest and just sit n relax.

Basically do all you can to avoid unnecessary movement and take in more calories than youre expending.

Good problem to have, Id think.

You've got to eat more - but try to eat decent foods - don't throw down alot of sugar bullshit just for calories - also, lifting heavy compound movements - bench press, squats and dead lifts.

You are a classic "Ectomorph" body type, which means you have a raging metabolism which makes it extremely hard to put on weight. Like the guy said before me, if you are serious about this, you have to both eat A LOT (5000 calories), and rip it up at the gym. This will be as hard as someone extremely overweight (due to the opposite problem; a slow metabolism), so it will take extreme dedication and hard work.

I suggest a weight gain powder, which will make it much easier to reach 5000 calories a day

Good luck!

I would suggest the weight gainers shakes also. Very high cal and carb without the fat. Probably the easiest way. Try your favorite online shopping place such as shopping.com or whatever and type in weight gainers or mass builder see what you come up with.

Here's whats worked for me in the past--I used to be unable to gain weight but and occasionaly level off and use this formula again:
For Mass gain:
Calories: 52-60 per kilogram(2.2lbs)
Carbs: 3.6-4.5g of carbs per POUND (not kg)
Protein: 1.8g per kg(2.2lbs) ---Focus on carbs and youll get more then enough protein.
