Buff..been on the search myself. Have it narrowed down to two tv's. I think I am going with a 58 Samsung Plasma but if I do go with LCD I will probably go with the one in the link. Best price I have seen on one of the best LCD's out there.
I will tell you this, Samsung has the best picture going, hands down. They have some patented screen technology that gives them the edge over all others.
Toshiba is becoming very competitive in the flat screen market. You can get a great TV w more options, and good quality for about 30% less than a Samsung.
Sony is always a good choice but I just don't like their picture quality versus a Samsung, or even a Toshiba.
LG, Sharp, Vizio, Panasonic...are all a step below the above. They have good quality smaller sizes 24-37inch, but their quality starts to suffer once you get into the 48' range.
