eating with, hanging out with, mingling with? are u kidding? A MLB beat writer does these things, so sure he may know the ball players personalities etc, but bet you he still knows nothing about hitting a 96 MPH fastball in the middle of action or the game. Your argument is plain silly.

Unless you think he is outright lying, you can't really tell him what his experience has been.

I mean there is a problem in this country with law enforcement being overly aggressive. Yeah it does suck sweating that this loon might have a gun but you can't just pop him 3 times all the time. Some are justified, some aren't but we should all be able to agree when watching these videos that a lot aren't justified and err on the side of a little too proactive.

What dont get?

I WORKED, AND STILL DO, WORK WITH THEM DAILY.

16YRS NOW.

I do paperwork with them.

I work in the field with them.

I do everything with them in some form or another daily.

Dont tell me i don't know!

There are good guys & bad guys/cops.

As a matter of fact, one that i was closer to just resigned because they were riding him for not writing enough tickets! (A new chief throwing his weight around)

Ive already explained why.

Because IVE SEEN IT FIRST HAND WORKING SIDE BY SIDE EVERY DAY FOR 16YRS withpolice officers.

Ive seen the corruption.

Ive seen the profiling when witb black friends.

And now with all that ive seen & heard every day for sooo long, what cops are now doing proves that everything ive witnessed EVERY DAY by their sides, was true.

No other way to make it more clear.

problem is...there IS racism in this world, there IS racial profiling in this world....BUT MOST times it is not that at all. I actually have more black friends than white friends and I get into it with some of them all the time. Some of them ALWAYS claim racism....95% or MORE of the time it is not.
Not my friend, but my black neighbor moved in, in August a few years back (his GF is Puerto Rican, kids in house are either black or half black/half PR) and then he got busted in late Sept for cocaine dealing out of the house. He is NOT in jail currently and I saw him on Fathers day in back yard and was talking to him. he tells me "this is the nicest neighborhood we have ever lived in but we are looking to move"..so I ask why...his response "you guys are cool, the neighbors on the other side are cool, but the rest of the neighborhood looks at us funny cause we are a black family"....really dude is that what it is, or could it be you got busted selling COCAINE out of your house on the street they live on!?

And on top of it when you really think about. Cops do the same fucking thing!!!!

I got arrested maybe 5 years ago. The pussy cop looked at my juvy record and saw I was arrested when k was 16 for a little bit of weed. So what's he do? He decides to search me and finds a little bit of weed again. He arrests me and says why didn't you tell me you've been arrested before?

I said what when I was 16?!?!??! You looked at my juvy record? Can you even do that?

Cop goes, do you want me to add DWI to your charges?

Piece of shit authority dawg.

there are good AND bad cops, we do NOT disagree on that.

I do agree that it is more socioeconomic than race, the two just overlap so much and people tend to run with the correlation is causation.

Most of the systemic justice system failures have to do with money and class rather than race.

does that mean you were sent to the office 25 times in 8th grade? If that is what you are saying, my money is on you having bad behavior, not some over zealous ex marine.

Well then you lost your money. Never got into a fight that year or did I ever cuss at a teacher

I actually had a teacher lie to the principal that I said "fuck you" to him as I walked out the room. It was a lie and I was suspended for 3 days and got a refferal.

His word over mine and I swear on my life Ive never cussed out a teacher before. That's crooked authority created by false assumptions of kids due to their bullshit ways. Period.

Ive been a cop for over 24 years here in Houston Hache, pretty common knowledge around here. You're not a cop, I don't care who you have associated with over the years. I'm not diminishing what you know, but again, you're not a cop.

Shoot him in the leg? Someone has watched too much TV. You aim and shoot center mass to kill. If someone is shot in the leg or arm the cop missed.

As far as shooting a 3rd time, there's no limit on the amount of times you can shoot. You shoot until the suspect is neutralized or dead. Can you be excessive? Sure, and if so, you should pay the penalty for that.

Appreciate your service. But sounds like cops need to be retrained then if shooting someone in the leg is considered "missing."

BOOM! Should put an end to the nonsense in this thread.

One step i think law enforcement agencies need to do is stop hiring very young guys.

You have some of these 20yr old running around with a chip on their shoulders.

There should be a required minimum age (25?) with more maturity...

So you think he shouldn't have shot him a 3rd time?

We saw the whole thing on video, it isn't really a grey area. That type of aggression is either part of protocol or it isn't.

It's shoot to kill, not shoot to injure.

It really is a life and death situation for both the cops and the suspect. Not listening to orders with a gun pointed at you is not going to end well. Not defending the suspect or victim here but what if he was deaf? high on drugs? had a mental disability? or didn't speak English? pumping him full of lead was unnecessary. 1 shot was more than enough.

You are probably a great guy in person.

But look at the things you have said, and your way of thinking.

That is exactly the reason the majority of people are up in arms today & have a problem with cops...

Over 24 years and not one complaint, none. You are an outsider, you don't have a clue about the job.
