You didnt see the part when he was on the ground and KEPT reaching under his shirt and waistband STILL while being told to show his hands...

He was shot twice, were you ever shot twice in the chest & when someone shouted out something to you, it was easy to.understand what that person was saying to.you? Are you kidding? Who can understand anything that is being said after being shot twice in the chest? I would think you would be in serious agony & your arms would be all over the place.

Did he understand it the first 20+ times before he was even shot once? Obviously this guy wasnt going to be stopped and didnt want to listen at any time

what is your degree in?

curious, do you enjoy your job? or no, the degree has little value job-wise?

He's collecting a pension and has full
medical benefits. Anything he does moving forward now is pure gravy.

Cab is extra cash and benefits, and its a great job that gives me tons of free time, cause I can work when I like. And I hold a BA degree in History, with a secondary in Military History

No, I've never been shot twice. Also never been held at gunpoint by cops. But if I ever am in that position in the future, I sure am going to do whatever the fuck they tell me to do

He might be in same boat as me, with money coming in monthly and free time to pursue other things.

Maybe the guy wanted to die suicide by cop? Either way, it was beyond overkill IMO.......

I think it's time to invent a gadget that will incapacitate a suspect w/o killing them, & the way cops are shooting their guns, I'm thinking taser guns don't work?

Gotta be some type of horse tranquilizer that would be effective.

Yeah, there's gotta be something that can be invented & works efficiently......& needs to be able to take someone down with 1 or 2 shots to the body, incapacitate them w/o causing death.

Then again, when you're being shot at like in Dallas, how do you respond with a gun that shoots supposedly darts that knock.out a person, while the suspect has an AK-47 & is spraying the crowd.

Maybe cops can carry both, a dart gun & a regular gun.....heck, I don't know, my mind is scrambling for answers.

I just know something needs to.be done at the upper levels.

Let me guess "paid administrative leave?" To me the problem is some people in this country get held accountable for their actions and some don't. By no means do I think cops are always in the wrong for firing, a lot of times they should but if you feel you're judge jury and executioner there better be no doubt.

when it comes to 'reform', again, one has to define what is ACCEPTABLE as a society . Have the courage to do so. To define a 'problem' implies we have defined what we will accept as normal- sleep at night, with no shame.

this is an interesting article, I will post to provoke thought . Certainly, every country is unique, shit is multi-factorial . Multiculturism , socio-economic, standards......etc etc...

Dallas has had a lot of reform under Brown. More de-escalation in training, stricter on use of force, easing on petty crimes. Firing bad officers, which can be hard to do when you are dealing with a public sector union.

There is a lot you can do on the margins that improve quality drastically and still get the bad guys.
