</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>It's easy to have a great connection with an athletic freak like Davis. After his monster breakout last season, Davis is obviously Smith's go-to receiver. Still, matching last year's numbers are a tall order for the tight end. A natural statistical regression is likely.

Barring a setback, he'll be in the starting lineup Sunday at London. The 49ers plan to keep it simple in Troy Smith's first start, which should lead to a greater reliance on the tight end in the passing game. Davis is a top-three fantasy option this week.

Davis even plans to run routes this week with the 49ers on bye. In that case, we can rule out a "high ankle sprain." Davis didn't specifically state that he would return to face the Rams in Week 10, but it seems likely if he's able to run this week. It's time to put the breaks on Delanie Walker waiver claims.
