St. Louis and Montreal appear to be the front-runners for the 17th and 18th MLS franchises. There aren't any future plans to expand beyond that so Vancouver is trying to get in the game by offering venue possibilities. Problem is that St. Louis alread has plans to build a soccer-specific stadium while Montreal is gonna debut their new place. Portland is also supposed to be in the mix.
