Rice hasn't played very well defensively, which may offer UTEP hope for a nearly unexpected victory. Despite having a squad that ranks third in Conference USA for total yards allowed per game, the Owls have allowed 33.6 points per game this fall (370.1).
The UTEP defense has been successful at restricting yardage but has allowed the third-most passing touchdowns in Conference USA this season. They've only managed three interceptions in the meanwhile.
