The official that had his fist in the air did the proper mechanic at the time. He held his fist, didnt give a signal and passed the call onto the official that was all out selling the call. The lead official in this case took it upon his shoulders and made the call. The "C" official did nothing to make it look like he was going to call the block. In fact he came in right away as if he were going to call a charge as well. Being a official at the high school level I can tell you that the most difficult call to make in a ingame situation is the block/charge. In this case the defender was moving but in some situations if you are moving it is not an automatic blocking foul. Its like I always have said....damned if you do and damned if you dont. What Floyd did was totally uncalled for. The block/charge didnt determine the outcome of the spread, it was Floyds antics that caused USC backers. Tough luck on this one and better luck next time.

from floyds standpoint i cant even blame him id be furoius too as the shitty call cost his bubble team any chance at a big win whatsoever

Thats your opinion. Until you put on the stripes you dont know exactly what it is like. Its easy to criticize when one has never done it. Give it a try once and see if you like it. You might be surprised. I have done it for 15 years and enjoy it immensely. Do I get every call right? Hell no, but I work my ass off to try and do my best each and every night. I would expect that these guys do the same. This level that they officiate is soo fast and soo physical now a days the game of basketball keeps changing because of it.

What was your opinion on the Arizona State-UCLA bad call the other night? I didn't play that game, but I thought Arizona State benefited again from another bad call. Furthermore, how do you determine "flopping" .I saw some Sun Devils do that, espcially Harden in the first half. He looked like one of those "flopping soccer players" taking a dive in the penalty box

I did not get a chance to see the UCLA vs ASU game. Flopping in all honesty can be called a Technical at the High School level. Faking a incident in not within the rules of the game therefore it is penalized. I dont know what the NCAA rule is however. I would have to look it up.

My opinion you dont make a call on something like in that in that point of the game. Its not like it was a flagrant charge. Its a 6 point game with a minute to go for cripes sakes and you basically take the game out of USC's hand by making that call. Whats the worry, that you are in ASU's house? Shit they would have still had the lead and the ball after the free throw attempt.

I just think you are taking the game away from the players who busted their assed for 39 minutes by doing shit like that.

If Hackett ran him over and it was without a doubt a charge then fine, but a call like that deserves a cracked skull in the parking lot.

You know we see it many times during the course of a game. Officials pass on some blarges as we like to call them and other times they call a block or in this case a charge. I can side with you and where you are coming from. Unfortunately for you it worked out the wrong way. The next time it may work in your favor. The last thing on the officials mind at that time is if he is going to screw USC out of an oppurtunity to pull the upset. I believe that these guys are credible, and I know how damn tough it is to rig a game. There are too many variables that happen during the game in which we officials can entirely determine an outcome. I truly believe that because I blow the whistle myself, but at entirely different level. Good luck next game, hopefully you get that block called instead of a charge.

All I want is consistency--------if they call it tight, call it tight on both sides-----there were several questionable calls and that is why I think Floyd was upset---It was building up from all the other calls and that one put him over the edge (i.e the Taj Gibson tackle)
