I attached a new printer to my computer.
When the printer powered up, this message appeared:

This device can perform faster.
This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port. For a list of available ports, click here.

"Click here" led to a message:
There is no HI-SPEED USB host controller installed on this computer.

What are we talking about ???

it means your computer has USB 1.1 ports... 2.0 is newer and the printer is optimized for 2.0
