Lots of hearty discussion about this on Twitter.
I don't have a problem with Leafs fans, they are loyal and have been through a lot. The loyal non-asshole fans deserve to see them move on past the first round.
That said, I don't have a problem with Panthers limiting first rights to tickets to non-Canadians. It is much cheaper to go to a game here, plus the weather is much better, so it is a prime destination. But that's what Florida teams have to deal with, and they still will when tickets open up or are available on Stubhub or secondary sites. So creating more of a home ice advantage in theory makes sense. There will be plenty of Leafs fans just like there were Bruin fans last week.
Toronto natives eat sleep and breathe hockey. Florida natives generally do not. So having to hear folks say that "Florida doesn't deserve a team" or they have no fans is stupid really. And comparing fan bases is like comparing apples to chicken sandwiches.
So get over it Toronto. Come down, enjoy the sun and fun, and take your L's and go home. #Timetohunt #gocats
