I no longer even open emails from people or places that I don't know. However, McAfee antivirus deletes ones with a virus before I even see the heading of the email.

Can you get a virus from not even opening an email?

I have used McAfee and Norton Internet Security, I think NIS is better!

No, if you dont open an email that contains an attachment and the attachment is a virus I dont think you will get it.

But of course you can just by browing web sites.

I've read pros and cons about both Norton and McAfee. (Maybe a few more negatives about McAfee.) I think my current Virus software updates with McAfee expire in April 05. It was for a year.
The biggest thing I don't like about it is no phone support when you are trying to first get it working. Does Norton offer a phone # hopefull toll free?
