Unlawful Internet Gambling and Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was signed into law in October 2006. Goes into effect in Early July 2007 from what I have been reading. Anyone have the exact details on that? Could we have some possible fireworks going off before the 4th of July this year?

Serious replies only for this thread please (I know that sounds funny coming from me)

Law's already in effect.

There was a dealine for the treasury department to write compliance regulations for banks. Don't expect anything to change, they aren't going to make banks do shit, other than not knowingly transfer funds to gambling companies.

Any state can permit online gambling, this bill is not an obstacle.

The sports leagues came out against Bary Frank's bill, depite being specifically exempted, because they said they didn't believe "differential treatment" of sports gambling and non-sports gambling was sustainable.
