If you're gonna fire Richt, you need to go out and hire a sure fire proven successful head coach (which Georgia could have done).
You don't fire Richt and hand the keys to a defensive coordinator (Saban's DC no less) with zero head coach experience.
The fact that Smart was a Georgia alumni held precedence over every other actual coaching quality they should have been seeking.
Yep, this is what happens to excellent programs when alumni & fans are spoiled, get greedy, they want MORE. Richt was a quality all around successful coach.
