When is UFC 285: Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane?

The UFC Vegas 70 event on Saturday in Las Vegas features a highly anticipated matchup between light heavyweights Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann. Both fighters are eager to extend their current winning streaks in what promises to be an explosive bout.

The fights will be held at the UFC Apex, with the main card set to start at 7 p.m. ET, following the prelims at 4 p.m. The event will stream live on ESPN+.
Krylov, with a record of 29-9 in MMA and 10-7 in the UFC, is set to participate in his first UFC headliner in his 18th fight with the promotion. He has won his last two fights against former UFC light heavyweight title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Volkan Oezdemir, making him a formidable opponent for Spann.
Meanwhile, Spann (21-7 MMA, 7-2 UFC) is fresh off a spectacular knockout win over Dominick Reyes at UFC 281. This victory marked his second consecutive win and his third win in his last four fights. With both fighters in peak form, fans can expect an exciting matchup.
Additionally, the event features the long-awaited return of undefeated flyweight Tatiana Suarez, who has not competed in over three years due to injury. Suarez (8-0) will be facing Montana De La Rosa, adding further excitement to the UFC Fight Night event.
In this article, we’ll take a closer look at a selection of the best upcoming fights and share summaries from our detailed fight prediction articles.

Nikita Krylov vs. Ryan Spann

Nikita Krylov will take on Ryan Spann in a light heavyweight bout that promises to be a thrilling affair. Krylov has been in fine form of late, winning his last two fights against Volkan Oezdemir and Alexander Gustafsson. However, Spann is a dangerous striker who will be looking to keep the fight on the feet and land some heavy shots.
We’re split on this one, with two writers picking Krylov to win and another predicting that the fight does not last the distance.
However, the consensus seems to be that this fight could go either way. Krylov’s grappling skills could be the difference-maker if he can get the fight to the ground, but if Spann can keep it standing, he could earn a knockout victory.

Brendan Allen vs. Andre Muniz

Brendan Allen will take on Andre Muniz in a middleweight bout that promises to be a technical affair. Allen has won his last three fights and has been impressive in the UFC so far. Meanwhile, Muniz is undefeated in his last nine fights and has won all of his five UFC bouts.
Braeden Arbour writes that although Allen is a well-rounded fighter and has shown an ability to win fights on the feet or on the ground, it’s likely that Muniz will get the takedowns he needs to secure the victory in this fight. Muniz will need to be at his best to beat Allen here but Arbour believes he represents good value at -200 odds.
Best Bet: Muniz to win

Tatiana Suarez vs. Montana De La Rosa

Tatiana Suarez will face off against Montana De La Rosa in a women’s flyweight bout. Suarez is a former Olympic wrestler and has looked dominant in her MMA career thus far, winning all eight of her professional fights. On the other hand, De La Rosa has a mixed record in the UFC but has shown flashes of potential.
David DaCosta is picking Suarez in this one. She should be able to control the fight from start to finish. De La Rosa will need to come up with a gameplan to counter Suarez’s grappling, but it’s unlikely that she’ll be able to pull off the upset. Expect Suarez to earn a dominant decision victory.

Mike Malott vs. Yohan Lainesse

Mike Malott will take on Yohan Lainesse in a welterweight bout that could go either way. Malott has an 8-1-1 record and has been impressing fans with his explosive striking and grappling abilities. Meanwhile, Lainesse has a 9-1 record and is now 1-1 in the UFC after a recent victory against Darian Weeks.

This fight could be a close one and Michael Pounders is predicting a slugfest. In terms of a pick, lean the under 1.5 rounds option or take Lainesse by knockout for generous odds.

Charles Johnson vs. Ode Osbourne

Michael Pounders writes that this fight is a lot closer than the odds suggest and notes that “Osbourne is fragile and has a gas tank issue but his offense, hand speed, long striking, and explosiveness make him a dangerous matchup for anyone.”

Pounders hasn’t been impressed by Johnson so far in his UFC stint his balanced skillset makes him a tricky matchup for some.

Ultimately, Pounders sides with Osbourne in this one and thinks that he’ll end up landing the more significant strikes over the course of the fight.
