UEFA Cup Qualifiers

OK, OK, I couldn't wait until next month to start my picks on soccer. What with the taste of the WC still fresh in my mouth I have decided to venture out and take a few guesses on some early UEFA Cup qualifiers. Please, please do NOT take these picks as anything but lightly educated picks, heavy on the lightly. In other words, I'm pulling these out of my ass. These picks will NOT be counted toward any YTD record.

I'm taking 3 teams with CL experience that are going against relative unknowns.

Artmedia Petrzalka Bratislava -2 -108 over FC WIT <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Georgia (5dimes)</st1lace></st1:country-region>
<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Artmedia was in the Champions League and beat Porto of the Portuguese league 3-2. Their coach from last year, Vladimir Weiss, left along with a three other players. However, that still leaves most of their players still intact after a highly successful season. This experience along with the fact that they are playing at home will be the reason they win against Georgia.</st1lace></st1:country-region>

<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">WIT Georgia is in this contest by virtue of the fact that they won the Georgian league last year. This league is hardly in the same level of competition as the Champions League that Artmedia played in last year.</st1lace></st1:country-region>

<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Brøndby -2 and -2.5 +104 over Valur Reykjavik (Pinnacle)</st1lace></st1:country-region>
<st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Brøndby looks to be a force to contend with in the Danish league this season while Valur is from the much weaker Icelandic league. Another mismatch here and Brøndby will be wanting to get off to a good start at home.</st1lace></st1:country-region>

FC Dinamo Bucuresti -2 -130 over Hibernian FC Edinburgh (Pinnacle)
Hibernians is in the match by virtue of their Euro Challenge Cup victory which has the Maltese League's 3 participants in European Cups going against each other. Hibernian finished 4th in the Premier League playoff.

Dinamo Bucuresti is a veteran of the Champions League and should have no trouble qualifying again.

What the hell, here are a couple others with no particular reasoning behind them.

FBK Kaunas -0.5 -126 over Portadown

Bet365 has the Over 3 and 3.5 at -111. That makes Over 2.5 -143 a good value.

APOEL/Murata Over 2.5 -222 (Interwetten)
Some books have this line at Over 4.5 -124. Betting the Over 2.5 at -222, you would need to win 9 times out of 13 to break even. I think this goes over more times than that.
