YTD TOTALS(Match-ups)
Cup: 12- 4 +7.25 units
N'wide: 4- 6 - 1.60 units
Total: 16-10 + 5.65 units
Have some concerns about the tires today after watching the N'wide race yesterday. Would hate for that to be the reason for a bad day but regardless, here it goes.........
Match-ups
2.00 units David Reutimann (-110) over Paul Menard (@thegreek)
Really like this one. IMO Reutimann is a driver on the rise, smart and talented. Was fast in the January tests in Vegas and continues this weekend. If he can just finish without any incidents this is a no-brainer.
1.00 unit Matt Kenseth (+125) over Jimmie Johnson (@sportsbook.com)
Everyone knows about Johnson going for four in a row at Vegas but Kenseth has a great track record here as well(4th, 2nd, 8th, 1st, 1st last five races). Was fastest in the first practice yesterday and has better starting and pitting position as well as a better pit crew(don't know if anyone noticed but last week they had two sub-12 second pit stops.)
I'll take a potential winner at this price.
1.00 unit Carl Edwards (+100) over Kyle Busch (@bodog)
1.00 unit Jeff Gordon (-120) over Kyle Busch (@5dimes)
Even though I think Edwards and Gordon have great shots at Top 5's or better today this is also taking a shot against Busch. It could easily blow up in my face because he is quite capable of winning this thing.
My reasoning is this, Busch is an emotional and streaky driver. Everything started off so well for him this year, every race in every division was a Top 5 or better. Yesterday he got a taste of adversity. Tore up two cars in one day(albeit one was not his fault). If he has matured then he will get over it and it won't be a problem. If he is the same old "Rowdy" then today is a time he will try to make something happen and be overly aggresive and thats where he makes mistakes. Time will tell.
1.00 Scott Riggs (-125) over Robby Gordon (@thegreek)
Strictly a gut play. Riggs has a good car this weekend, but not sure if he can be trusted to finish the race.
Prop
1.00 unit Sam Hornish (+135) to finish better than 27.5 (@sportsbook)
Come on 27th and at +135! Got to take a chance here. If (and I know its a big IF) he does not crash or blow he will finish ahead of 16 cars. Too good of a car/team.
Good luck to everyone.
