It's been a strange football season. I've done terribly on Monday nights, going 0-4, but the Sunday games are keeping me (barely) afloat.

So now it's Week 12, and here in the South we're finally starting to experience some real football weather. So break out the Angora socks, fire up some hot cocoa, and punch someone in the mouth, U-G-L-Y Week 12 is upon us.
Today, on the (Facenda voice) frozen tundra of Ericsson Stadi.... O.K maybe not, but there is a live dog in North Cackalacky.

Carolina +3

I hear everyone saying, big whoop, the Panthers have won two in a row, BUT WHO HAVE THEY BEAT! I suppose I could almost grant someone that argument on any other week, but not against the Bucs. They say, well, Tampa, started off bad, but they've won four of six and are back on track. But Tampa's recent wins have come against 1) a bad, bad New Orleans team (they're only road win), 2) A Chicago team, at home, whose offense couldn't get out of they're own way, 3) San Fran :hump: (What? Jeff Garcia's gone? Oh, sorry), and 4) K.C., they of the Keystone Kop defense, who also had to do without Monsigneur Holmes for much of the second half. Some track record, eh?

Maybe Carolina hasn't beat up on any big names, but this team has been completely torn asunder by injuries from day one, and have fought hard to rebound. The supposedly patchwork offensive line everyone was talking about at the beginning of the season has given up just 12 sacks, and their sixth (SIXTH!) option at running back won NFC offensive player of the week honors last Sunday. Wanna talk about bad offensive lines? Let's talk about Tampa. They've allowed 29 sacks thus far, and now Dr. Peppers (with 2 sacks in each of his last three games) comes calling.
John Fox is no idiot. He will run the football, and let the defense win it. UM grad Brian Griese's my boy, but I think he'll leave the field today looking like the deer I almost plowed into yesterday on the interstate.

Good luck,
Space

Thanks, Bob.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen you around in forever, since the U-G-L-Y glory days. You must be busy, though, with all those artsy, metaphoric, Ben Stiller flicks. :nono5:

Haha, JK. Hope you had a good holiday, and good luck today.

Peppers made some huge plays, and his front seven mates held Tampa to 2.2 YPR. Goings ran for 100+, and Pittman lost two big fumbles in a lousy liked I hoped.

Might be back with a pick for tomorrow. If you're into trends, I suggest you fade it.
