I agree about someone in his place making these comments isn't right. I think we all see the what was going on with his tramp tho. Just very bizarre the context of the conversation is way off the map. Old man saying he don't care if she sleeps with them, just don't been seen in public.....seems like it would be the other way around. As far as being offended.....people say things, it's all about how you take it and being the better person.
We don't have a vested interest in the NBA. His comments are meaningless to us and our lives. But his comments have a deep impact on the league and it's players. As they profit from their image and legitimacy. Having a racist owner in a league that is very popular amongst minorities is horrible for them. I find it a very interesting ordeal because of that, not that I really care about this guy or his comments. But just how the NBA deals with the situation. A lot of people cannot think outside their own lives. I try to be objective and understand how big of a deal it is to those that are actually affected or associated with the situation. It is a serious situation for the NBA, not for me or you.
your right about my vested interest in the NBA.....I could care less. I am curious on how the league will handle this on the level of disciplining an owner that does something like this off the court and in the private setting of wherever he was at when the convo was recorded. Nobody really knows due to the secretive ways of that tight knit fraternity of the owners. We shall see.
It's no different than any other organization. Even local organizations where a leader gets caught saying something stupid or cheating on their spouse there are consequences. So when you are part of a national or global organization these actions are magnified exponentially. His views at your weekly poker game with your friends are very insignificant, but on a global stage, they impact a very large organization and are a very big deal.
