May. 13 - The Dolphins, looking to replace the injured Will Poole, met with former New England cornerback Ty Law on Wednesday, The Miami Herald reports. Agent Kevin Poston confirmed the visit but was unaware if Miami had made an offer.
Law, who had offseason surgery on his left foot, still is unable to move laterally, The Herald reports. It might be another month before Law can execute the moves required at his position.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have taken an interest in Law. But a signing does not appear imminent, and health and financial issues are involved. The 31-year old missed the last nine games of the '04 regular season and all of the playoffs and Super Bowl.
Law, a four-time Pro Bowl, was released by the Patriots in the off-season for salary cap reasons. The Lions and Dolphins are one of at least five teams reportedly interested in signing Law. The other three are the New York Jets, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis, with the Jets considered the team most likely to be bidding against the Lions.
