Yep. That answer seemed rather obvious to me also. I'm surprised anyone would even make the remark in the original post. Shockingly, even Fauci said matters needed to get worse for him to be allowed to address things like this and shelter-in-place, otherwise the American public (and of course the Democrats) would have screamed bloody hell.
