Donald Trump has remained adamant about the fact that he will not be accepting any plea deals because he maintains that he has done absolutely nothing wrong after being indicted again. But, in an interview with Politico over the weekend, Trump did lay out a very bizarre and specific scenario under which he would accept a plea deal - but it is a situation that will absolutely never happen. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what that one scenario would be.

Donald Trump is adamant about the fact that he will never, under any circumstances, accept a plea deal in the ongoing prosecution that he is now facing, and of course will be arraigned for today. He says, no way, no chance not going to accept a plea deal under any circumstances. That's what he told Roger Stone in an interview this past weekend. And then of course, he immediately said the one circumstance under which he would accept a plea deal. So he totally would absolutely never accept a plea deal under any circumstances, except in the one circumstance where he would accept a plea deal. But don't worry, folks, it is a circumstance that will absolutely never happen, partially because I don't even know that it can happen because Donald Trump says the one way he would accept a plea deal is if they quote, uh, where they pay me some damages. So if the Department of Justice goes up to Donald Trump and says, listen, let's make a deal. We drop all the charges and we give you a bunch of money, how does that sound? Donald Trump, of course, says, yes, I would definitely do that. Um, now obviously, uh, that's not gonna happen. In fact, according to the reports, that's not even something that is offered during plea deals. You don't ever see the federal government working on a plea deal that includes giving the indicted individual lots of money that simply does not happen. So I don't know if Donald Trump was just joking around, or if he genuinely believes that there's a chance, the government may just say, Hey, sorry for your troubles. Here's a couple million dollars. But based on the interview, it appears to be that Trump believes he could get a bunch of money out of this. And yes, this is incredibly stupid, but we're dealing with an incredibly stupid man, at least when it comes to the law. Donald Trump, of course, is facing 37 counts. He will be arraigned in a Miami Federal courthouse today, judge Eileen Cannon has been removed from the arraignment, but she is not removed from the case. And I saw a lot of folks on social media yesterday celebrating, oh my God, she's been removed. No, no, no, no, no. She's only not overseeing the arraignment. She is still assigned to be the judge overseeing the case, but I doubt Judge Cannon is also going to offer Donald Trump a lot of money again, because that's just not a thing that happens. What Donald Trump also said in his interview with Roger Stone is that he does foresee having to pardon himself when he makes it to the White House. And then of course, he also said that he doesn't think he'll have to do that. So he thinks he'll have to do it, But he also doesn't think he'll have to do it, just like he'll never accept a pardon except for the one instance where he will accept a pardon. So lots of contradictions from Donald Trump. And what that tells us is that he's having trouble controlling his train of thought. And typically when that happens, it's because he is panicked. His mind is going a million miles an hour, and he can't land on a single thought, focus on a single concept because he's so concerned about the possibilities. That's the big takeaway from this interview. That's what those conflicting statements mean. It's not Donald Trump misspeaking. It's Donald Trump's panicked brain not being able to remember anything because it's so terrified of what lies in front of him right now.
