north ill opened as -1 and now the current is troy -2
last time that happened mia oh opened at -3 and swung to isu -2 before kickoff, so i had to get down on isu +1 early in the day for a nickel, not based on the change, i liked isu early anyway, but the line kept slowly moving other way since it opened. im taking troy at -2 for a nickel, but id like to know if anyone has info pertaining to why isu or troy moved so much other than big dogs loading up. thanks in advance.

i think the NIU/Troy game moved so much because people are seeing a less than stellar showing by the MAC and are loading up to bet against them as much as possible. this happens EVERY year when one conference is exposed as being less than top-notch in bowl season (and Vice Versa - when a conference kicks butt people load up ON teams from that conference).

as for ISU/Miami - my guess is some had to do with MAC-bashing but also other factors.

NIU is the more consistent team. Troy, who knows which team will show up.

no, i mean like when they lost their most important game of the season, at home, vs toledo, 17-31. and like last year when they lost they most important games of the season, at bgreen 18-34 and at toledo 30-49. their game vs bgreen was not as important as their game vs toledo.,espn game doesnt necesserly mean important game. they had their destiny in their hands vs toledo and they lost that game handily.

Blue, no kidding. And Maryland the last two years, and Bama too. They've played pretty well in big games, I would have to say.

btw troy is the opposite...they played their best games against big name schools...beat marshall on the road as a 14.5 dog. beat mizu at home as a 12 pt dog. lost a 10 pt hard fought game at sc as a 15 pt dog, lost at lsu by a fg as a 24 pt dog. they wanted a strong finish in their conference, and they went 4-0 winning by 20 on average.

yes they played well against maryland and bama but this year maryland was just as pathetic as bama last year. and nobody was takin this niu team seriously at that time. their true carachter can be judged by their inability to beat toledo in like 10 straight games, and to win an IMPORTANT game when everyone is expecting you to win it. remember, the books expected them to beat troy and thats why they opened as favs. but they are dogs now.

I'm not willing to bet a penny on Troy St. Might as well go to a roulette table, because you don't know what you're gonna get with them.
