Trouble with Betonline Horse Racing Rebates

I know this is my first post so will taken with a grain of salt. However, I've attached my chat transcript to document. I play horses 95% of the time. I have all the big ADW accounts, but decided I'd give Betonline a try since they are top rated here (yes, I never post but have been reading all the way back to the Majorwager wars) and offered a 7% rebate, and obviously the wagers would not be in pooled.

I deposited and played the first day and sure enough the next morning no issues and had my rebate. I then wanted to play Sunday night and looked on their track list and noticed Los Almotos Quarter-Horses was not on there. I sent the attached chat to their representative. The next day no rebate and I bet about 600 or 700 bucks that night at the track.

All day and with different reps I was told since Los Almotos "changed" to quarters there was no rebate. I pointed out three things, one the track is a quarter horse track 95% of the time and nothing "changed" as they have been running quarters on Sunday night for decades, and in fact TVG has a whole show "The Quarters" dedicated to it.

Second was the fact I was specifically told the wagers for Sunday night qualified for the 7%. Third was, why in the world would i bet offshore for no rebate when I could get at least some rebate (rewards) from one of the ADW that are legal, licensed, and located it the United States.

As you can see from my chat I was very clear and the representative was very clear. There is also no doubt I was referring to quarter-horse racing.

I chatted and emailed with 5 different people and they just repeated the same thing over and over that since it was quarter-horses, no rebate. I attached the chat transcript each time and it was totally ignored, except one rep said they were sorry I was misinformed. Well that's fine moving forward.

Anyway, I don't really care as I just got off the phone with AMEX and did a charge-back that will cost them well more than the amount they ripped me off (no I don't feel bad as I gave them every opportunity to do the right thing).

I don't think they set out to intentionally rip me off. However, the fact they would not honor their word, both verbally and in writing, and for an amount less than the charge-back, which I told them I was getting ready to initiate, is very troubling. I flat out said this is not even a close call if you should honor the rebate and if you don't I'm initiating a charge-back.

Just information others can do with what they please. I obviously am sticking to the licensed and regulated ADW. Not as good of a deal, but no headaches.

Thanks

That's fine and moving forward I would have been fine with that. It was my 2nd day with them so I had no background on them. I proactively sought out an answer and just because their clerks are useless is no reason to not honor what they promised, especially when we're talking less than 50 bucks.

Doing a chargeback is simply wrong in this case imo.

Chargebacks are for when books close up shop or blatantly steal from you. Neither occurred here.

A few years ago they discontinued their bonus points promotion with no notice so anyone who had points in their account or had been building them up lost them. That's been a few years, but sometimes the culture doesn't change.

Done 2 charge backs in my life. BritneySpears Casino(i know, but they had a $500 bonus to play blackjack) and SimpleNetBet.

Evey god damn week the power was out or it was a "holiday on the islands" when they had to pay.

Did you read the chat transcript i attached? They made a promise; I relied on that promise; I spent my money relying on that promise; they admitted they made the promise; and then said sorry we're not honoring our promise. I bent over backwards all day yesterday trying to get them to do the right thing and they just kept copy and pasting the same response to me. I even gave them two warnings I was going to charge-back. Unlike them, I keep my word and did just that and I hope it causes them a lot of problems with their processor.

Yep. They made a mistake. People do that.

Happens all the time and there are consequences, usually very, very insignificant consequences, but consequences.

Would you not agree that to remedy this mistake they should have accepted the very insignificant consequence and honored their word?

This is a perfect example of the reason people that are not hard-core don't want to do the offshore thing and Bitcoin, ect.... A supervisor of a store here in the U.S.A. looks at this and says we'er sorry, here is your refund, but more importantly we want your continued business and our reputation is worth a ton more than 40 or 50 bucks, but offshore they basically say up yours.

I agree my response was not proportional, but it was the only remedy I had left, other than just saying thank you for not honoring your word would you like to steal some more of my money.

I am not saying ur a bad person. But in my opinion what you did wasn't correct. Once again that's simply my opinion. Not sure why ur wasting anymore effort on this, you will win your charge back and the money you lost(obviously you lost the bets) will be returned to you.

Out of curiosity(i have never played horses) what was the rebate around $40-50? What did you charge back, $1,000?

I think you lost your bets. Were upset about that, then they arguably stiffed you for a few bucks and that was the straw that broke the camels back. I think you were going to charge back as soon as you lost all the money anyways. But that is once again just my opinion.

I actually only deposited $30.00 and got extremely lucky the night before and lost it all, but only after earning enough rebates that my account was again sitting at about 30 bucks.

On Sunday night I got lucky on the first two races. I ran the total up a few hundred and churned that money until the last race. On the last race I did "go for it" and bet $300.00. But in total I played about 700.00 worth of bets off that $30.00. Of course I would have liked to have hit the final bet, obviously, but I bet it on a 6-1 shot.

My thinking was that I either hit the mother load or I am exactly where I started two days ago, but I got to play two days and nights of horses.

I usually just play it on the TVG ADW, but actually it was Betonline that called me after I signed up, so I figured what the heck. That's why I'm so ticked, is because they are doing all of this over what will be a 30.00 charge-back and it should be obvious to them I make a lot of horse wagers and just honoring their word no doubt would have made them a nice profit, because I'm like most horse players, in the end I lose.
