Rabbits are chowing down on parts of our landscape.
I bought a trap that won't kill them, we have a creek in the hood so I'm gonna drop um off on the far side of the creek.
I read about the baits people use ect.. I know trapping these dudes is futile but I'm bored.

Anyone else ever trap rabbits? Any luck?

There is a product called Liquid Fence that I use for deer, I think it works for rabbits too. It's a spray and smells like sulfur. Don't spray against the wind and you have to redo every time it rains, but it works.

Thanks Cheddar
I'll check it out..It rains often here plus my GF ordered this fucking sprinkler off Amazon..she uses it a shit ton, despite the fact it's already wet here most of the time. Hid the trap with a few cut twigs and baited it with carrot peel.
I'm out for revenge.

Get yourself a couple of female cats....get 'em spayed and then allow them pretty much free rein to spend time outside, especially after sunset

The lifespan of a domestic cat is likely shortened if it spends a lot of time outside, depending on the surrounding environment.

But they will absolutely reduce the active presence of rabbits

We live in a pretty suburban zone. But there is enough "non-landscaped" areas in and around the neighborhood that my 6year old female has brought at least a dozen dead rabbits to my doorstep in past three years

Pisses off my wife but I kinda see it as law of the jungle

Followup note: By and large among most feline populations it is the females who do the hunting

The males, especially once neutered, prefer to lay around on their ass, eat and sleep......(tag yourself if applicable :) )

Not my male cat who is neutered. He hunts rabbits and eats them. a rabbits brain is a delicacy to a cat. Let me tell you a rabbit can be very loud when a cat has him by the neck and is biting down into his neck.

Someone's been posting on our neighborhood Next-Door link about two cats someone dumped who have been wandering around the small area we live in....I've been leaving a little food on an outdoor table at night and I've seen them a few times now in the yard.. I'd love to temporally procure 2 shy free roaming cats, I know at least one other person is feeding them so..it's could be the perfect situation for both me and the cats.

We have 2 rabbits that come into our backyard every day around 5pm. They sit and stare at the door until my wife throws out a couple carrots or apples.
They arent doing any damage so we encourage them to stay I guess.

Sometimes it's way more fun to trap and/or shoot. I just trapped my nemisis, the red squirrel. He kept nailing my bird feeder. Took me 10 chipmunks later, but I got him!

The store bought traps didn't work.

How did you get the chipmunks, cheddar?

The rabbits don't bother my veggies. They just hang out and eat my grass. Coons, possums, skunks, squirrels, and the worst, woodchucks, do. I catch those bastards and release them two towns over (Don't tell anybody. Not legal) Caught 26 squirrels two years ago. They love the seeds on scali bread if you know what that is.

But the chipmunks are running wild. The bastards even go into the traps and eat the bait before the big animals come around. My traps aren't sensitive enough to trigger on their lack of body weight.

What do you use to catch the chipmunks?

When I lived in So cal I caught possums, raccoons and once a skunk. Man, are possums dumb bastards/ raccoons get pissed/ the skunk was a freaking mess.
I'm just hoping these rabbits are as dumb as possums.
I'm keeping score with tick marks on my traps..sorta fun checking the traps in the morning.

It's pretty quite on the Oregon coast...
