In spite of State's approach last week in regional final upset over Louisville, I believe Izzo will tinker with the attack once again. Half court was the M.O. vs the Ville. It worked exceptionally well and curtailed Pitino from getting the speed game going. State passed on many transition opportunities to slow the pace and play clock & half court hoops. That would not be wise against the Huskies. U Conn is much stronger defensively when set. Thabeet as noted earlier, is often the last player down in either defensive or offensive transition. It works to the Spartans advantage, to attack without him in the picture. State ran regularly leading up to the Louisville game. They have the point and surrounding athletes to minimize the presence of Mr. T, by running. As always, the Big East rep will run at most opportunities. They are at their best offensively in an uptempo situation. Thabeet is still very raw, as an offensive threat, other than on the glass. THUS:

Second half presents a much more of the same. As predicted, Spartans would run to neutralize Thabeet. Game plan remains the same, without question. Weary of 74 point 1st half (over the over by 11.5) nevertheless: Price plays better, and pace remains the same. Free throws at the end??? THUS:

Love Nova and their passion. They are my kind of overachieving team. However: I have NC in a few brackets for some decent cash. I can't bet/watch against myself. I believe the Ford Field perception lines play more a of a factor with these two squads. But: playing under in Tarheel lines is total Russian roulette.
