IDENTITY...looks like it, but its still a long season, and I am confident that many more opportunities exist for us to get it back, is coming up...and tomorrow may be one of them...Things like this happens sometimes, and I hate this kind of games because this type of game where one teams emotions and mental attitudes, and not so much physical abilities, won out for the weaker side...This is one thing in capping that we have no control over or ability to determine...We can only hope that it will exist for whomever we sided with today...Clearly, Troy had it and Missouri lacked it.

This is another example of why College ball is so exciting...the Home Dog, playing on National TV, with everything to prove plays with all there heart and souls, beating out the more superior team who looks to not have gotten their mental game up to match their physical game...and like Jerry Rice use to say, "this game is 90% mental and 10% physical"...Still though, the home dog doesnt win out all the time, for ex, Washington Huskies...and this is where whomever can have a good grasp on a teams attitude going into this type of game, more than likely will be on the right side...I was not one of them today and my hats goes off to Troy and all cappers who backed them tonight...Good call on this home dog....Aloha CC.

CO Captain

Tough luck tongiht but keep up the good work

Still don't understand why everyone thought the Mizzu D was so good. I thought all along they were the most overrated/overhyped team this year. Guess it might have showed tonight.

Keep up the good work. Enjoy reading your posts.

Line Breaker...I been hearing and reading a lot of people saying that...but for me, I felt that with 9 returning starters back this year, and playing an Offense like the one this Troy team has that is not anywhere near those that Missouri is used to facing year in and year out, they should be able to dominate on defense....Still, like I mentioned earlier, this game is sometimes more about mental focus and sometimes, the Big Underdog has the advantage over the heavier favorite, especially in their House...But, I dont want to blame the defense or offense to much in games where they did not play to their potential...Sometimes it is the fault of the Coaching Staff for not getting their teams in the right frame of mind and keeping it there from the start of the new week in practice to the end of the entire game...Coaching is just as much important as players performances are.

I remember Coach Larry Brown of the NBA once saying that it is a coaches job to coach performance, and not players abilities(something like that)...So, sometimes it is poor coaching and preparation that is to blame more and not just the players...Perfect example, and it still hurts to bring this one up...LOL, but Hawaii's loss to Fl Atlantic was clearly won by the team with the better, more prepared Coaches in my opinion...Coaches is definately something that I will need to look into a lot more in the future, as it seems that sometimes Coaches can get over-confident as well....Thats why I liked Steve Spurrier so much, because that guy seemed to never take any team lightly or at least he was one coach who played to destroy, demoralize, and demolish his opponents no matter if he was a 33 pt favorite or a 3 point favorite...He demanded and played the game to win in that type of fashion...I miss him...LOL...GL and Aloha CC.

You would think that after all of last years major upsets by the MAC teams that these smaller teams would be taken more seriously....but I guess not....I think we need to remember that most of these teams have some very outstanding coaches who aren't just nobodies from nowhere...They have been around and have succeeded at other Big name programs and also in the NFL, and they are able to take over a underdog program and make them believe that they can win and compete with the big boys....I remembered when Coach Jones came in to take over a downward sliding Hawaii team, coming from the NFL, he was able to make the left over scraps from the Von Appen years believe in themselves and his program, and thus it resulted in Hawaii having the biggest turn around in NCAA history...

Speaking of Hawaii, I know that one thing that scared me about the FAU game was that they were Coached by Howard Shnellenberger(sp)...Knowing that this guy has won a National Championship on the Div I level and was a success there made me a bit weary...I think many have forgotten this or have not cared to look into whose Coaching these Mid-Major teams and they just as well overlooked them along with the team or conference....Well, believe me, I will definately pay more attention to this fact in the future...You can believe that.

FYI: regarding Troys next game...

Ok, I thought I share a heads up for all of those who have all of a sudden bought into this Troy team based on their two big Upset victories...I would be careful if thinking of backing them in next weeks games...one reason is because of the hangover effect which we all know does exist after a Big Upset like this Missouri game...which BTW is the biggest upset in Troy schools history...

Troy will now be going on the road to play New Mexico State next week...Most Sun Belt polls had Troy finishing 2nd in the League behind N. Texas, but they also had New Mexico St finishing right behind them in third...

New Mexico next week will be playing their first home opener, so the crowd will be loud and excited of course, especially since they are expecting to have a solid conference year from the Aggies...The Aggies only return 3 starters on Offense, but they do return a solid RB and their duo QB tandom which they have been using for the last 3 years in QB Pierce and QB Dombrowski will once again be used to run the offense...QB Pierce is the passer of the duo and was one of last years most effecient passers in the nation with a 69% completion percentage...QB Dombrowski is the rushing threat of the duo...

The Aggies Defense though, is where the strength of this team will lie...They are returning 10 starters, which include the best LB corp in the League...Some have them as possibly the best overall defense in the league this year, and that is also why they are expected to finish so high in the conference this year.

Coming into this game vs Troy, the Aggies should find themselves sitting at 0-2 after facing California this week...If so, I expect that they will be a sizable dog at home in this one vs the 2-0 Troy Trojans...If so, I think NMST will have a lot of line value, and also very good situational setup edges on their side in this one...

Last year, the Aggies were only 3-9, but they lost 5 of those games by a TD or less...

Some pre-season publications have predicted for the Aggies to win this game vs Troy at home...but it was with the thinking that Troy will come in at 0-2 or 1-1 at best, of course losing to Missouri....That loss to Missouri didnt happen, but I am feeling that because of the win, Troy may be hurt with regards to the hangover(letdown) effect is concerned after such a monumental victory...as well as, being installed as a road favorite in this game on the road, to a very dangerous team who is also picked to finish 3rd in the league and playing its first home opener, seems to be a role they may not be able to handle to well...

I dont know, but I think that next weeks game vs this NMST team could result in a Troy defeat....It is hard for a team to get up to play another team, who they know finished 3-9 last season, especially after beating the likes of Marshall and nationally ranked Missouri...I think Troy may get a rude awakening in this one...and is in a good spot for a letdown...If they are favored by more than a TD, we better think about jumping on NMST fast...I see an upset or at least a close game in this one and having points with the home team, facing a team coming off a HUGE Upset win, should be very valuable commodity and should result in another loss by way of the "Hangover Effect"...Keep an eye on this one Gang...GL and Aloha CC.

Not a ghost. Was just making an observation as I saw you kept posting updates when Mizzou was ahead, but once they went down the tank, you were nowhere to be found. One quarter doesn't make a game, as evidenced tonight. A bit sensitive I see...relax.

This is not as big of an upset as everyone thinks.Missouri will soon fade out of the top 25.This team is way overhyped.

I do updates on a whim, not all game long and definately not all the time...so dont be taking something like that, in any other way...Sometimes these updates or FYI's or Notes: which I post before, during, or even after the game, are all information that is in regards to my selections, and which can be used by others to make second half bets, or future bets later...Do you expect everyone to remember everything that has happened in a game all the time...

So, its not to smart of you to be assuming or even expecting someone to have to do something the way you expect it to be done or what you think is being done...Furthermore, if you need to assume and also post something negative and worthless like what you posted about someone else, then I suggest you start your own threads and knock yourself out...Dont be coming into someone else's threads and talking shit, or taking cracks at something which you may not know anything about...This shows no class...

Lastly, if you know so much about football that you need to remind me that one Q doesnt make a game...then lets see what you can do by posting your own selections and writeups my friend...Maybe you could share with us some of your knowledge and experiences with all of us...

A bit sensitive is not me....I just respond to people like yourself who want to assume or make an unwarranted and useless comments, to show you how stupid and arrogant you look and sound...You came in my threads with your negativity, so I am just responding to it...Plain and simple, if you cant handle my responses, then watch how and with who you chose to communicate with...We have enough negativities going on, and we definately dont need anymore of it here...Thats the reason!...Best thing, is that if you dont have anything constructive or worthwhile to say, then keep your comments and assumptions to yourself...Stop assuming you know others, cause you dont...Believe That!..and stay out of my threads if you dont have anything positive to contribute...

BTW, we shall see if your a ghost of someone or not...Try not to post your negativity and then disappear or log out, only to come back later to take more shots at someone, showing your weakness...Stick around next time, so maybe we can all see who you are or are not...
