Aloha Gang! Well yesterday we had a good day going 6W-3L= +9 Units. Tonight, I am looking to double these Units and give the man what he gave me on Tuesday. Thats right, a good old fashion ASS SPANKING. Well start the night off with a few good ones, then I am looking to end it with my GAME OF THE YEAR play. Enough said, Lets Rock-N-Roll!
10 Unit GOY Play on:
HAWAII -3 (BIG BLOWOUT WINNER)
-Ok, here is the game that I was waiting for all season long. This wasnt any cicled game before the year as some services always state. No thats not how I do it. I wait to those situational setups and advantages to occur, and then I hit my spots. The Warriors are at this time playing excellent ball. They are on fire, and back home after completing a 3 game Conf road trip where they made history by winning all 3 games.
Tonight they are playing another hot team in UTEP, who also holds the same 12-3 mark as the Warriors. But they will be the ones leaving the islands with a fourth loss on their records, and theses reasons below is why I simply love this one tonight.
Unlike Football, where I usually provide more of a different angle to my selections than with stats and trends. Tonight, I see a very telling sign with them and they to me, give me good reasons to back my play. So for those who like to see stats and trends, tonight is your night.
*Hawaii is 7-2 at home.
*Hawai is 6-3 ats when playing against teams w/ winning records at home.
*Hawaii's last 5 games they are 4-1 SU & ATS.
*Hawaii wins games with Defense and is holding opponents to an avg of 63.9 ppg, 39.8% FG, and forces an avg of 14 TO's a game.
*Hawaii does possess the WAC's best Offensive player in G Mike Kuebler, who is also ranked 42nd in the Nation in scoring. Kuebler avg's 19.3 ppg, 39% from 3pt land, 46% FG, and is an 80.3% at the FT line.
*Hawaii at home avg's 72.7 ppg and is shooting 45.4% FG.
*Hawaii will have the height advantage tonight when they play three guys who stands 6'10 Haim Shimonovich, 6'9 Julian Sensley, and 6'8 Phil Martin.
VS.
*Utep in its last 5 games has gone 2-2 on the road, and 2-2 as an underdog.
*Utep is coming off of a big upset win over Conf leader Fresno St., and still show signs of a slight hangover, per interviews.
*Utep, although possessing a high scoring Off which avgs 82.9 ppg, 49.1% FG, and 39.3% from 3pt land. On the road, they are only scoring 66.7 ppg. (WOW, enough said!)
*Utep has only won 1 in its last 4 trips here to the islands.
*Utep will be outsized tonight against Hawaii, as their tallest started is 6'6, and only reserve Tofi goes 6'8.
*Utep will try to run the court due to their size, that is how they win games. Unknown to them, is that Hawaii not only possess a taller team. But Hawaii is stacked with players with the speed at guard and small forwards to also run with them.
Playing a balanced game is what Coach Riley Wallace insist on being able to do. So far he has been able to show that this Hawaii team can do both. This game is so important to the Warriors, because of Utep's defeat of Fresno St and their own loss at the hands of the Bulldogs, that they can simply not let this one get away. The Guys are just happy to be home and are so excited to be playing in front of the home crowd again that they showed this excitement by going straight to the Stan Sheriff Arena from Honolulu Airport. As starting point guard Logan Lee stated in an newspaper article, "I can't even begin to tell you how great it feels to be back here." "The bus dropped us off and instead of taking our stuff to the locker room, we walked straight to the court," Lee said. "It just felt like so long since we've been here, I think we were all anxious to get back on our own court for a change."
Well, if that doesn't say how excited the Warriors are to be back home, then I dont know what will. But not only are these players happy to be back home, but us fans are super happy and proud of their historic accomplishment on the Road. For many years, it has been an automatic assumption by everyone here that we cant win on the road, and now after what these guys have accomplished on their 11 day road trip is just incredible and something that has given so much excitment and energy to the people of this state. The fans tonight we surely be Rockin the House, as we know what UTEP's record is, as well as who they defeated in their last game. But more importantly, they will want to show the Warrior BB team how proud and happy they are for their accomplishment this past week and half on the road. Tonight I cannot see anything at all stopping the old Warrior chant of "LETS GO BOWS, LETS GO BOWS, LETS GO BOWS." This wont happen, and that means trouble for the Miners tonight. Aloha and GL to All, Co-Captain.
5 Unit Play on:
Freson St. -2(LOSE by 4pts)
4 Unit Play on:
Boise St. -4(WINNER), USC +7(WINNER)
-I just cant understand how a team like Cali who has a record under .500 can be favored by 7pts. I am glad I didnt bite.
-OK Guys, lets chill the Beers and invite the Ladies, cause tonight we going to PARTY HAWAIIAN STYLE! GL and as always Alooooooha, Co-Captain.
