Too many Bumps Threads

BAS you shouldnt whine about bumped threads, sounds as bad as posters who cry about how this place isnt is good as it used to be. It's not very unbecoming of you. IMO the forum is what the members make it into, punishing posters for posting is bad idea in general but if you are going to go after people go after the people that take away not those who actually contribute or make an attemp to or mix up the monotony. Boo on you I say.

Just set up a forum option that prevents threads that are older than say 6 months from being bumped.

In other words, write a script that flags each thread that is 6 months, 7 months (or whatever) and prevents them from having any new posts added...

I've been saying this for years. When a bumped post is in a thread that contains a thread title unrelated to his new post I don't want to read about the new stuff. I want to read the stuff about the thread title. That's why I click it.

I agree with BAS. He's been bumping too much lately. So much so that I go elsewhere because I don't want to read topics that are years old only to find one new article totally unrelated to the thread title.

Problem solved.

Easy fix. Trip Advisor, is a good example...close every post after a year.

Some of the bumps are Ok.... but would be better served as a new thread if they are that "newsworthy"
