National NFL insiders are sticking with the Cowboys' party line of 6-8 weeks, but the Dallas Morning News and ESPN Dallas both have sources putting the timetable at closer to eight weeks. Romo's fracture is close to the shoulder joint, which means doctors can't surgically implant a plate to help the healing process. Our guess is that Romo won't play before Christmas night, and perhaps not at all the rest of the way.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Romo went down less than a month ago, so it would've been unreasonable to expect the fracture to heal by now. ESPN Dallas reiterates its previous report that Romo is "at least three weeks away from returning," meaning he's not likely to be back before Week 15. The Dallas Morning News has indicated that a Week 14 return isn't out of the question, but would be optimistic.
