i think hermans is a very good coach, obviously osu really misses him

but damn, he lost 3 games this year, one to smu

can we stop treating this guy like bear bryant?

Agreed.....plays in a shit conference
Reminds me of Peterson coaching BSU...can get his players up for the big out of conference games, but falls flat when playing opponents that he should beat with relative ease. How will he be able to navigate a 13 week grind?

I get what you're saying and even agree with the gist of it, but there is more to it than wins and losses:

Bear Bryant lost 35% of his games before he went to Bama (91-39-9)

Peterson did fine in bowl games including wins over Choklahoma/TCU etc.

i think his body of work last year was pretty evident of his coaching.
this year has been harder because of the constant coaching rumors. that makes it hard for the staff and players to focus on each game
because there's always the coaching issue (is he going? where's he going? who's going to be the coach next year?) playing around in the brain.

the guy can coach.... who took over that Houston team with not the greatest level of talent and did quite well. I am not buying in to the LSU rumors. He is a Texas guy and I think if UT fires Strong that would be his #1 Choice. If he does go to LSU as reported it will be scary to see what he can do on offense with the talent LSU has.
