Just got these numbers back from the tests I did on Monday. Not looking good right now and gotta go on a low fat diet even though im not really overweight. You all know more about these numbers then I do but I will try my best to post them right.

Sodium is: 137 ranges 135-145
Potassium 4.5 ranges 3.5-5.1
Chloride,CO2,Calcium all the same, in the numbers

Glucose:92 ranges 70-100
bun 12 Ranges 6-22
creatinine 1.4 ranges 0.7-1.4
bun/creat ratio 8 ranges 10-20<-LOW
protein 7.4 ranges 6.1-8.0

CHOLESTEROL 234 ranges 0-200 HIGH
triglyceride 293 ranges 0-150 HIGH!!!!!!!
HDLD 38 ranges 40-100 LOW
LDL,CAL 137 ranges 0-130 LOW

all the other stuff was great so no herpes or hiv and things like that, LOL. The lows and the highs are what she is concerned with and I have to start working on a diet immediately tonight and have to go back in 9 days to check my cholesterol and triglycerides. Stage 2 of diabetes I think she said and I drink like 2 gallons of water a day so that worried her. I hate fish and that sucks. So, looks like porkchops when I go out or grilled chicken!

just a suggestion: try to really limit your saturated fat/trans-fat intake. this generally means cutting down dramatically on any processed foods (chips, cookies, anything in a box.)

good luck

try and eat more whole wheat products. It will make you feel more full for much longer since it takes longer to digest. Plus it has fiber which is great for your body.

Just keep eating this stuff until you start to like it. I used to not eat well, and I needed all the sweets and all the crappy white-flour junk, but I eat more raw food. I used to love roasted+salted cashews, but now I can't stand eating them; give me some raw+unsalted cashews. White flour = junk. I feel sick after eating it.

Their are tons of healthy low fat foods to eat. didn't I list them for you on another thread? The only thing that I'm not a big fan of is vegetables and thats just becuase I get the frozen kind and nuke them for a quick eat. I'm sure if i did it the right way, they'd taste better.

But, i myself, need to get in better shape. it is easy to get lacadasical

Here is a quick test you can use when you are at a restaurant or don't know whether something is healthy or not. If it tastes good, it most likely isn't healthy.

What do you mean; white flour products?

Are you just talking junk food or real food?

C-Low, had the same problem, cut out the straches and started taking Omega-3 pills (fish oil and flaxseed). My numbers came back normal.

The only way it can taste good, and be good for you, is if it is expensive. I think this works in just about every single case.

C-LO:

Did you have tests done separately for the herpes and HIV? They don't usualy do those for a routine yearly physical.

As far as cutting out the chips, have you considered eating nuts instead? They are high in fat so you have to limit your intake but I tried them instead of chips.

I just didn't know if you were assuming that all the tests were done automatically. I've known people who thought that. Glad you're clean. I need to get all that bloodwork done soon too along with my yearly physical.
