Commentor with context
Since the video gave absolutely no context, let me explain why this happened. It had nothing to do with a flight time.
This is Wesley Bryan, playing his last round of golf for the 2016-2017 season. He was so far down in the rankings that it would be impossible for him to qualify for the Tour Championship at this point. He had the first tee time of the day and his partner, Danny Lee, that was supposed to play the 18-holes with him had withdrawn from the event so Wesley was playing solo. Wesley wasn't playing well this tourney and was +6 after 3 rounds, so this round really didn't matter for him. He was interviewed after and said that he woke up and decided he was just going to have fun and play a quick game. However, after hole 6 he thought why not keep the crazy pace.
Once he got to the back 9, he realized that it might be possible to finish under an hour and a half, so he decided to go for it. His final time was 88 minutes. This is an unofficial record only because the PGA doesn't keep track of the fastest times, but it is definitely the fastest. The average time to finish a round in the pros is 4 - 4.5 hours and this was less than 1.5 hours.
Not only that, but this ended up being Wesley's best round of the tourney. He got 14 pars, 3 birdies, and only one bogey. The craziest stat that I saw was when someone did the math on how far he had to walk and realized that he essentially played 18 holes while running 13.5 minute miles. That's nuts!
