The liquor store close to me has a tip jar. You want me to tip you for taking my money? Fat chance.” I told him to put HIS money on UK winning the National title... That was my tip!

Agree 100%

We eat out regularly and always have

My wife and I can instantly tell if a waiter or waitress is capable

Restaurants used to expect 15% - 20%

Now is see 18%-30% on many cheques/bills

Also, some places makes the staff split all tips

I don't say that crap

I'm not paying any other servers except my own, and it's not fair if others aren't as good or don't give a sh!t about their customers

If I suspect that they are all required to share all tips at the end of the night, I give the tip (if I have Cash) or write on the receipt it only goes to my waiter or waitress, and if the manager has a problem with it, come see me...

InstaCart wanted me to tell them how much of a tip I was paying even before my first delivery.... I told them to cancel the order.

It's beyond crazy!

You also have to examine the bill at restaurants as some are adding the tip in automatically now not to mention fees that are stated as "covid costs and/or staff insurance."

Funny story, long Night of partying downtown wrigleyville after a playoff game in 2016, we go into a pizza slice joint and we all hammered, I’m sure we were loud cocky and talking smack, place the order, time to pay The bill, as we walking out , teller slightly moves the Tip Jar to our dude who is paying a 6ft 9” dude (College BB player), he goes “ I got a tip for you, don’t put your Penis in a Blender” Nerd counter guy was in tears.

I don’t like when at a restaurant, the server would bring that credit card machine to u. Then u have to put your tip in right then and there.

I feel like they are watching you and it feels weird

No shit. Was at a bar yesterday. Bartender said since the tab was over $50 an automatic 20% tip was added and the bartender was fucking horrible. And it wasn’t even busy.

I almost refused the tip amount. Total bullshit

When I lived in Vegas I saw a tip jar at 7-11. That’s when I realized it was out of control. Lol
