As a Gator fan since 1960, I have seen a lot of College Football. I might be a Gator homer but Tim Tebow has far exceded anything that was expected of him when he signed on at UF.

I also think Tim will be the next Billy Graham. You can say you heard it here.

Gosh, how I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL! :toast::103631605 LT

TATER, Tim is 22, not 24. Could your FSU feelings have a hidden motive towards Tebow? Still love ya, LT:toast::103631605 LT

lol, yes coach, I am busted, some of it is my disdain for UF< and to call a gator a homo, lolol,,, but I concede, I was wrong,

and if you have met the cat then your stamp of approval is rock solid,

Tebow likes sausage for breakfast and takes sausage for dessert. I have no problem with that. I could care less but I love how some need to be his mom and protect him.

Faith can be a powerful thing, we should consider that may be the primary factor. Not homosexuality. It is possible that we actually have a stand up guy on our hands here...hard to believe, but very possible. Tebow should be embraced as a role model.

All I know is, we've got one more season of the Meyer/Tebow connection to put up with. And these guys are ALL football. If Tebow isn't spending time chasing after the puddy tang, it means it's that much more devotion to what's happening on the football field. Which is bad news for the rest of us.

You fail to understand the power of the Holy Spirit and peace and joy that comes from walking obediently with the Lord. I've been a born again Christian for 15 years, and have strayed greatly from the right path. I can tell you that a Christian living in sin cannot be happy. The Holy Spirit will convict you, and the darkness and sadness that comes upon you will bring you to tears, and will bring you to your knees. Even if it's just hours after having "the time of your life."

You know me fairly well for being just message board friends. I can honestly tell you that there is nothing in the world that can satisfy a man. Only Jesus Christ can bring fulfillment. I'd rather have Jesus than millions, an MLB career, hot girls, drunken parties, fame, strip clubs......any of that. Anything the world can offer you is a counterfeit to the one thing that your heart truly desires. Most people will not find this out until it's too late, and my heart is filled with compassion for all of humanity that is searching, and ultimately lost.

Sex is a gift from God that is meant to be enjoyed to its fullest within the proper boundaries. Being sexually pure is not easy for anyone, let alone a guy who could have any woman on campus that he wanted at a moment's notice. But he isn't the first guy that's chosen to save himself for marriage. J.D. Drew did, A.C. Green did until he was like 40 years old. Sure it's rare, but it's possible with God. It mostly comes down to not placing yourself in the path of temptation, and avoiding situations where any man would fail. I have all the respect in the world for the guy, and his faith encourages me and other Christians.

Well said.:103631605 I can't believe how mad some people are getting over what you said?

What are you doing on this site then? Gambling is a sin. Associating yourself with sin is a sin.

As a fellow Sooners fan, I am disheartened to say that I don't know how anyone is going to stop Florida from repeating. The defense they won a championship with last year was nearly all underclassmen.

Gambling can be a sin. It's not inherently wrong. Lack of self-control is a sin, and most gamblers have times where they lose control. But I don't see anything wrong with making intelligent wagers, just like I don't see anything wrong with trading stocks or options.

Ramen, brother.

Religion is fueled by guilt and fear.
Guilt and fear is what brings conversion. When we are honest and realize just how far we've missed the mark, then there is conviction. But that conviction leads to freedom.

Guilt and fear is what brings conversion. /quote]

For time immemorial, people have responded in a variety of ways to feelings of guilt and fear. I suppose for some, converting to a certain set of religious tenets is viewed as a good choice.

However, for many of us, we decided to adopt certain religious and/or spiritual principles in our lives (in my own case, the Christian gospels are fundamental) for reasons that had nothing to do with either guilt or fear.

Rather, we adopt these principles because we find their application makes our lives and the lives of people around us better than they were before.

hey barman... are you one of those guys from everyone's high school that smoked a massive amount of weed and became more articulate from smoking vs. those who lost their ability to communciate coherently ? your style of writing strikes me as such. which is not a bad thing b/c I am saying you are articulate.. but I am curious to know if I am correct. This is not a slander. I just have a feeling.

You don't read the same Gospels that I do. I'm not going to get into a back and forth with you over this. I'll just say that if you read the 4 Gospels and think that it's not about a change of heart, then there is nothing I can say to you about that.

Been a long time since high school, though yes, I became an active toker at age 16.

"I" often think I'm more articulate after toking, but could not tell you how the room at large might vote on any given night

Fun Fact - I'm a 32 year mostly chronic user of cannabis, but since last August I've only used less than a half ounce covering maybe a couple weeks combined. Nothing overtly deliberate, but it's been an interesting year. Looking to get a nice half of dro from a longtime friend in the next couple weeks to break my long fast

Actually I'm pretty sure it's the same four that have been used for a couple millenia now by people from all walks of life.

And I absolutely concur that for me and for many people I know who have come to adopt the Christian gospels as a core part of our life, there has most certainly been a change of heart in many aspects of our lives.

What I rebuked (solely from a personal standpoint) in the earlier post is that our change of heart had anything to do with either guilt or fear.

and money:money8:

Its not fueled by money. If that were the case, churches wouldn't give all their money out to the needy. Paying utility bills, buying clothes, food, sending missionaries to places where they will never get anything back from. Sure there are corrupt preachers but the vast majority are not.

I am a Christian BTW.
