Are you saying Tiger is a liar? Those words came straight from his mouth. And yes, you can build up a lot of money when you get paid a million per tourney. This guy has videos, a book, video games, clothing line, golf course design, his name TM., Enough money to go around other than money from Nike or Gatorade. Just wish he'd throw me a bone.

ya . if he said that i am calling him a liar. show me the article .

their is no way the guy has given away every penny of his endorsement money .

He'll make far more than Lebron, etc because his career is 30+ years.

Wonder why no one ever mentions soccer. Ronadino (Sp?) was making about $35 M a few years ago - salary. Add endorsements and I would guess it neared $100 M/year.

Beckham as paid a ridiculous up front lifetime payment by Addidas - I think $190M... $190 M up front is better than $6-800 M over 15-20 years like Tiger or Lebron might get from Nike.

never said he couldnt live lavishly. i'm just not naive enough to believe a guy who is all about winning majors and banking huge sums of jack is giving most of it away ..

so he spends all that time doing all those ads just so he can be a nice guy and give it away...

aint buying it.. even if he said it..

Who says he's about making huge amounts of money? Did you consider that maybe it's the thrill and challenge of winning that he loves?

aint buying it

You don't need to because there's probably nothing to sell.

Tiger Woods $1 billion net worth, taxes, and the real Privacy story

  • By Rita Watson, Love and Marriage Examiner
  • April 13th, 2011 11:56 pm ET

With all the speculation about Tiger Woods finances and alimony money still on the table, the Hartford Courant just reported that Woods is expected to become the first professional athlete to reach $1 billion dollars in net worth. Despite his pricy divorce, lawyers for Woods and Elin Nordegren reached a financial deal in the best interest of both parties so much so that Elin’s lawyers hold Tiger’s mortgage! Nonetheless, the man is not cash-strapped. Tiger Woods. So why the sale of Privacy? He is letting go of the past.
Elin’s lawyers hold Tiger’s mortgage
TMZ reported early that Tiger Woods took out a $54.5 million loan that he had agreed to pay back by January 15, 2016. And just who are the mortgage holders?
As I reported earlier, the Miami Herald had access to mortgage documents showing that "Woods will make payments to an entity called JRD Florida Ventures LLC. That is a Virginia company whose registered agent is an attorney with the firm that represented Woods' ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, in their divorce." Miami Herald

The world of love and marriage is complicated. Add divorce settlements into the mix and it is daunting!

As for alimony speculation
Tiger still "owes" Elin, really? This is basic alimony 101: if you receive support that money is considered income on a tax return. And the person paying the tax gets to deduct the alimony payments. It is not unusual in big court settlements to defer payments because of certain tax advantages. This depends not so much on the divorcing couple, but on the financial arrangements made by accountants and attorneys.
The sale of Privacy
The yacht is no longer his private hideaway. It is a part of his past with Elin and his mistresses. He is seeking a new life, in a new home. He has a new girlfriend and Privacy is about Elin, a wedding gift. Good for him to let go of the past.
