Saw this question raised on ESPN Sportscenter, so thought I'd ask the Forum. Mickelson now off winning the last two majors and 3 of the last 9, while Tigers has won 2.

This is how I see it. Mickelson has won The Masters twice and the PGA once. The Masters is the only one of the four majors played on the same course every year and the PGA, although challenging is the least prestigious of the majors. Playing on the same course year after year, even Augusta National, allows for familiarity and strategic planning having played the same holes, although slightly different each year. The PGA courses vary but often times the grooming allows playability. Tiger has won each major at least twice, and most importantly, the U.S. Open which is normally the most difficult of all.

Until Phil Mickelson breaks through and wins the U.S. Open or even the British Open, Tigers Woods still remains the best in the world in my opinion. Your thoughts.

PHIL AT THIS TME, I WOULD STILL SAY TIGER LONG TERM.

This reminds me of when Andre Agassi finally started winning a few grand slam events...he also went well into his career before getting that first one...very similar.

I would say Tiger he is just a step ahead of all the pro golfers ala #23 MJ vs other Nba players in his time. Like the old Tina Turner tune Simply the best Better than all the rest..........................

Unfortunately the best all around player is still Tiger Woods. As much as I root against him, he is the best player for one reason and one reason only. He is the most mentally tough competitor on the tour. He actually reminds me of Michael Jordon in that his will to win is so much higher than any of his fellow competitors. He actually wills himself to win. Until there is a golfer that is paired with Tiger in the final group on the last day of a major and beats him head to head, Tiger is the man.

I was amazed they put it up there! Tiger is still #1. Will not skip a beat on that #. Call mew when Phil reaches #2 then we will talk! LOL Tiger is having a great year! Phil has now won 2 Majors back to back and just the 1st one of this year and they are asking silly questions already. Tiger hasnt lost his step one bit winning his first 2 tourneys in which Phil "was" in one then dropped out on the last day. Tiger still dominates this game. Im a Phil fan 2nd but Vijay should be compared to Tiger before Phil! Good answer Ted, I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I heard yesterday, that with The Masters win, Phil is now ranked second. Did I hear wrong?

Phil has the best boobs of the two.

Phil beat Tiger by a few strokes playing near perfect golf, while Tiger didn't play anywhere near top form.

Career wise, it's not even close.

Phil will NEVER,EVER be as good as Tiger. Tiger has way too much game.
I am a fan of both players and Tiger is heads and shoulders above Phil.

You have to like everything about phil. At least i do. but Tiger is tiger. Tiger on his bad days is still great.

However, if there was a major being played tomorrow i think they are pretty even right now since phil is on top of his game and tiger is not.

Tiger will finish with 20 majors...most ever. Doubt Phil even gets to 10. End of story. I would like to see their wives make out though.

Comparison wise it's dumb to compare them, look how young Tiger is and the pressure on him when he first started was insane and he looked it in the eye and performed like a champion. Phil is a great player, but he's not close to Tiger. Tiger will have unbelievable accomplishemnets when he gets done; I think he will only get better with age, which is very scarey for his competitors.

Youre right OMT! WOW! Astonishing! I cant believe he jumped over VJ. Lookout for VJ now! Whats the margin between Tiger and Phil? Ive met phil several times and he is honestly really nice along with his wife. Havent met TIger yet but I will this summer at the Wachovia Championship, Phil acts on alot about being "perfect" and having lil girls running up to him and the perfect wife but he isnt all that! Very tall, im 6'6" and he was right there with me so I believe he is 6'5" But I agree with the above about Tiger being younger and you hear all the time from Jordan, Barkley, Nicklaus, even Wayne Gretzky that Tiger has alot more in his bag then what we have seen, look at the way he completely changed his swing then came back and won 2 majors last year in which one he pretty much took hold of at the British Open one of the toughest tourneys. His major is the Masters and the press has to make something of it. Im glad it is this way cause I hate VJ!!!!!!! Besides, im an 8 handi and they are pros, who am I to judge???????

Tiger has had the better career but Phil is playing better now. If they played heads up tomorrow at even odds, I would take Phil.
