As a big Tiger fan, as well as he drove the ball today to ONLY be -2 is troubling. He hit way more fairways than he is accustomed to, but missed oh so many putts. 8, right in front of green in 2 with a little chip left, missed short putt. 15, hits it miles down there and had maybe 7 iron in??? makes 5 after blowing it over the green and another indifferent chip. -2 with the way he hit the ball off the tee was about the worst score he could have shot.

the chip on 15 was very very tough. Hit that too hard and it roills into the water, lol. Had to be careful, tried to hit it low and hope for a perfect kick onto the green and roll down that stupid fast slope. Can't win The Masters on Thursday but you can sure can blow it on Thursday, just ask Paul Casey...81 :).

Agreed Tiger drove it well. BOMB on 15, and a beautiful high draw at 13-- where's that been!!!!

STACKED leaderboard with the late tee times shooting the lowest scores!! Neither DeChambeau or Koepka came to Augusta in good form, .....didn't matter

DJ tee to green was fuckin solid. How about the fuckin approach shot at 11?!?! flag hunting with water left and a back left pin placement? wow

Koepka had no problem with essentially the same chip on 15...

If anything, Tiger was too conservative with his approach shots today. 10, tough hole, but center cut in the fairway, a world class player should do better than 40 ft left. Same with 11. Number 1, same deal. With his tee balls, it was him who should have been 5-6 under. Tomorrow is a new day!

I think conservative is a fair statement, planned- and I think he'd take 70 in round 1 every yr at Augusta. Keep in mind, some tough pin placements today. I think at 10 that was a pull. At 11, yeah he wanted no part of the water, super careful. The one shot I think he'd like back is the approach to 15. He didn't even look at Joe after the shot, no eye contact, dont know what to make of that...it was an obvious mis club... hit it middle of the green where he wanted, flushed iron, too much club.

Rory NEEDS a big round tomorrow ,...DJ/Phil/DeChambeau/Brooks all go out early, all quality names and if any one of them responds with yet another quality round, say 67 or so? oh boy......

Oh for sure, Koepka puts up anything under 70 tomorrow and say goodnight. Weather will tell the tail, though. Remember early 2000's British Open when Tiger got stuck in that monsoon and shot like 81-82 or something? Same deal. Whoever catches the decent weather draw tomorrow will come up winner.

Rors just can't handle the pressure, he is a front runner, as are many of these guys. To shoot +1 in those conditions today, might as well have been 75.

Augusta is such a revered place that it can really get between the ears. Rory wants to win here so bad, tough to tame that. Opening tee shot yesterday told us the nerves were paralyzing-- wild slice, bogey

after yesterday's round Adam Scott said nothing changes at Augusta- his most nerve wracking tee shot every year?....1st tee Thursday at The Masters

but i got a hunch Koepka's pulse at 1 was below 66, @)

Langer 71-72 -1

this is unreal. The course is playing super long as its soft, he's 61 yrs old. Hitting 4 irons, hybrids, 3 woods (2nd shot at 18 yesterday, lol) into greens.
